A couple of weeks ago played the remake of Final Fantasy VII and captured my imagination with his review of the title.
I thought to myself, "They need to remake and remaster Final Fantasy X."
Then I realised, "...you numbskull, . They did remaster it!"
Not to the glorious extent VII seems to have been done but that is a remake, not a remaster.
Hisses: I want a remake! š
As a completionist, Final Fantasy X is a game that requires commitment. None of this indecisive game-hopping that I am known for. Back in the day I had to share the family computer with the rest of the family but I had my own PS2, a tiny 30cm CRT TV, and Final Fantasy X was my game of choice.
I suppose back then I only had a couple of games to choose from; it was either Soul Calibur or FFX and I chose to spend hours perfecting my 99,999 damage and Blitzball game. š
Also, I loved Tidus and Yuna and Luluuuuu and Rikku and everyone and loved spending every spare moment with these characters.
It was also the first game I ever played that had a story that brought me to tears. š I hate finishing the game because it kills me almost as much as finishing Mass Effect 3. I have FFX-2 also, but I've never played it, have never spoiled myself by reading about it and don't know what happens...
...maybe that'll change this year.
Anyway. I felt the sudden urge to reacquaint myself with this world and I umm'd and ahh'd for a while. Final Fantasy X -- or indeed, any Final Fantasy game -- requires a significant amount of time poured into it.
I mean, you cooullddd play it and complete it in a relatively reasonable timeframe, but if you want to get all the legendary weapons, slap on some break damage limit, defeat all of the dark aeons, andddd transform the Besaid Aurochs team from losers to Blitzball Champions, you need to sink a lot of time into it.
And seriously, I love Blitzball.
If they made Blitzball a stand-alone title I'd be playing it. That's huge coming from me because as a general rule I can't stand sports, and I most certainly don't see the point in playing videogame football when you can go outside and play real football.
Anyway. BLITZBALL is obviously a different story! š
And obtaining the Jecht Shot is sooo much easier on this PC version than it is on PS2 so that makes Blitzball all the better! Though, in the end I usually prefer Tidus' Sphere Shot over the Jecht Shot, and of course you have to watch out for your opponents learning your special moves. š How dare they!
Of course, now is not the right time to suddenly get the urge to play this time-consuming game!
I've got some paid copy-writing work to do for the remainder of the month (Yay!) and then when May hits it's #MAYNIA time.
But I like to think that FFX will be a welcome escape every now and then and then some more when May ends. I've already started my character, as is evident by my screenshots š and he's ready to become the Blitzball champion he was always destined to be! And, of course, woo Yuna.

Until next time,
Thank you for stopping by! š
