I like nintendo for their games, but other than that, they are pretty weird. Their online service is absolute shit (no way to communicate with friends) and the estore is nightmare (no way to rate a game, only very few games from older consoles).
And for some reason, they cant use esports to their favor. There is a documentary about the beginning of competitive SSB Melee (super fun to watch) even before the big esport hype. Spoiler: Nintendo fucked it up. After Melee, Nintendo intentionally made their next two Smash Bros games LESS esport compatible, so pro players stuck with Melee. Its just fucked up and sad to see that Nintendo fans can't have big tournaments like others. Every Super Smash Bros was a good game so far, but for some reason they just don't want competitive SSB. The obvious reason would be money, but wouldn't they make a fortune just by selling merch for these tournaments?
