Hello Hivers! Welcome... This time I will be sharing with you a video game of my preference which I managed to pass quite some time ago, this new installment of my part has to do with the great initiative "Blogging Challenge Retro Gaming".
In this world of video games I have had the opportunity to play many games and pass many of them, but as I had already mentioned, this time I bring you one that marked my childhood at a point towards adolescence, this great game is "Dino Crisis". In my personal opinion one of the best survival horror of that time.
This great game has an important meaning for me, I remember that the first time I had it, my mom bought it for me by mistake in a Japanese version, it is obvious that from the first moment I didn't understand it, but I still played it. I was able to advance something despite not understanding it because of the language, but it was here where I fell in love with this game, I was dying to understand it, the scenes along with the silence was something really scary.
After a while my birthday would come and that's where I would take advantage, I asked for "Dino Crisis" as a gift, I went myself along with my parents to buy it and obviously I asked for it in the language of my preference. It would be from here that this great love for "Dino Crisis" would grow more, hours full of adrenaline, fear, silence and suspense. A great old school classic!
Next I will dedicate you a brief analysis about "Dino Crisis".
It all starts in a laboratory located on an island with a touch of Jurassic Park, a doctor named Kirk was doing research in the facilities where this laboratory was located, but for some strange reason communication is lost and a rescue team is sent to this formed by Regina, Rick and Gail. Well, although one more would be missing with the name of Cooper, but when he infiltrated the island with the others, he would be separated from the group and would be devoured by the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The game has a system identical to the great known "Resident Evil" title, although I must mention that for the title of "Dino Crisis" two new factors were added for that time. These factors would be the possibility of choosing one path or another in certain parts of the game that in a certain way would affect the development of the game. The second one is that the items appeared in different places every time you started the game.
Another quite important aspect to mention, were the new elements that were introduced as the double keys. Keys made up of a floppy disk and a decoder that would have the same letter that would identify it.
Now adding another important aspect for that time is the arsenal of weapons that could be found, among these we have pistols, shotguns and grenade launchers, you could also find tranquilizer darts, which could be combined to create a type of ammunition that would be more effective when taming the dinosaurs.
Among the dinosaurs that we will find in the game we have velociraptors, pterodaptyls and a Tyranosaurus Rex. There is another kind of dinosaur but the truth is that I don't remember its name, at this point I have to add that in my opinion there was a lack of spark in these enemies, I think they could have made a more extensive list in this case.
Talking a little about its gameplay, I can say that the game has a very simple control, using up and down to walk and the arrows to turn. There is a 180º turn button that becomes very useful especially when you have to run away from an enemy. Another interesting point are the laser locks that you will be able to use to block the way to the enemies, this way you will be able to shoot through the lasers to kill the aforementioned ones.
On the other hand, the graphic aspect of the game is very good, with 3D scenarios and characters as well. The animation of the characters is excellent and the atmosphere of the game will make us shudder at times, at this point I must be very honest and say that dinosaurs are less scary than zombies. The camera will slightly adjust to the angles that leave us an area without seeing, especially highlights the one that focuses you in front and you can not see what you have in front of you, which will make you doubt whether to move forward or not, this can cost you life or death.
On the other hand the sound aspect is another good point of this great title, the sound effects are quite good and at times realistic. The music perfectly sets an atmosphere typical of survival horror games.
"Dino Crisis" is a great game of my childhood, a game to which I dedicated many hours until I managed to pass it completely... Nowadays I still play it from time to time in order to remember all those good moments that I lived in my childhood with this great title... A bloody title that will live in the trunk of my memories!
