Every day brings new excitement in the world of Splinterlands. Especially when you have a lot of Merits in your hand, and the goal is to collect powerful Gladiator cards. Gladiator cards are essential for Guild Brawls,l and their ‘Bloodlust’ ability is capable of turning the tide of battle. I have been accumulating Merits in my inventory for a long time, and finally, today, the great moment has arrived. In today’s blog, I will share with you how I bought packs from the Guild Store and how I felt when I opened those packs. The cards I received after opening the packs really made my day. Let’s not talk much and go straight to the exciting experience.
After entering the Guild Store, the first thing that caught my eye was my accumulated Merit balance. I had about 12,955 Merits. I decided to use these Merits to buy 4 ‘Gladius Cases’. Each pack costs 2,000 Merits, so my total cost for the 4 packs was 8,000 Merits. While buying the packs, I was thinking to myself, if I get at least one Epic or Legendary card today, then the hard work will be worthwhile. The process of buying Gladius Cases is very simple: just select the number and click on the ‘Pay with Merits’ button, and the packs will be added to the inventory.
However, it is not enough to just buy the pack; you need some boosters or stones to increase the chances of getting good cards. So I spent 1,100 Merits from the inventory to buy 20 ‘Blood Stones’. These Blood Stones double the chances of getting Gladiator Legendary cards. While this doesn't guarantee that you'll get a Legendary, I think it's wise to take this extra precaution in the hope of getting a good card. It makes the excitement of opening the pack even greater.
After purchasing the packs, I went straight to the 'Open' section. The five cards are face down on the front, and the mysterious watermark in the background is always a thrilling sight. Upon opening the first pack, I was greeted with Helmet Kharafax, Katrelba Gobson, Isgald Vorst, the rare cards Cutter Brieze, and Alva the Crusher. I was quite happy to get a card as powerful as Katrelba in the first pack, as its effectiveness in Earth units is unmatched.
After opening the first pack, I had 3 more packs left. The top of the screen showed my remaining charges and the number of packs. Only a Splinterlands player would understand the curiosity that comes with flipping each card. I prepared to open the remaining packs one by one. I was praying in my heart that some big surprise was waiting for me.
It was time to open the second pack. In this pack too, I got Ysgald Vorst, Helmet Kharafax, Alva the Crusher and again Cutter Bridge as a rare card. Along with it was the Witch of Warwick. Although the cards were duplicates, these duplicate cards are still very important for levelling up the gladiator cards. Ysgald Vorst and Alva the Crusher, in particular,r will greatly increase the power of my water and neutral teams.
The third pack was the best surprise of the day! As soon as I opened the pack, a purple glow spread across the screen, which meant I got an Epic card. The card was ‘Edith Emberstar’. This powerful 8 mana life unit card is famous for its ranged attack. Along with this, I got Hugo Strongsword, Whistling Damon, Alva the Crusher and Helmet Kharafax. As soon as I got this Epic card, my Merit spending today was completely worthwhile. Cards like Edith Emberstar greatly increase the chances of winning in Brawl battles.
Finally, I opened the fourth or last pack. Here I got Sarius as a rare card. There were also Bertrol Gobson, Chimney Wallstop, Whistling Demon and Katrelba Gobson. Chimney Wallstop is a very powerful card in the Fire unit, whose combined attack and shield are capable of overwhelming the opponent. In total, I was able to collect some good-quality cards from the 4 packs.
Today's pack opening session was very productive for me. Especially epic cards like Edith Emberstar and important cards like Katrelba and Chimney Wallstop have strengthened my deck. These cards cannot be bought or sold in the Splinterlands game, so the only way to collect them is through these guild packs. Hopefully, I can bring better results for my guild by using these new cards in the upcoming brawls. How was your pack opening experience? Don't forget to let me know in the comments!
