Honkai Star Rail — A Space Adventure That Makes You Play in 2025!
Hi everyone, welcome to my blog 👋👋
I'm pretty sure you're familiar with the name of the game I want to discuss this time. Yesss, Honkai Star Rail, turn-based RPG game from HoYoverse. This games release in 2023 for PC and mobile. This game has been a topic of conversation everywhere, especially because it came from the same developer as Genshin Impact, which of course many of you have played as well.
Incidentally, I was one of the old players who had been playing since the first day of Honkai Star Rail's release. You can even say that you are a day one player. But like many other players, he also felt a saturation point and finally retired for a while. Now in 2025, for some reason, the curiosity will arise again. I'm back to you, update the latest patches, and... Boom! I remember why I used to love this game so much.
From the first time the trailer came out, I was already excited. The visuals are cool, the concept is unique, and when I found out that this is not an openworld like Genshin but more of a turn-based RPG, I was even more curious. To be honest, I really like strategy games that can be thought out long but still fun.
✴️ GAMEPLAY ✴️
One thing that immediately made me feel at home playing again was the gameplay. Honkai Star Rail use a turn-based combat system, which may sound slow and boring to some, but it's actually dynamic. You'll have to think about the order of attacks, the strategy of breaking the enemy's weaknesses, and the synergy between characters in a team.
Every character has a unique role, some focus on attacks (DPS), protectors (Tanks), healers, and support that can buff or debuff. The team composition is very important in this game. Sometimes you can lose not because your character is weak, but because of the wrong strategy.
There's also a Weakness Break system, where if you attack an enemy with an element that is their weakness, their resistance bar can be broken and they'll be hit with additional effects like Stun or DoT. This adds an element of strategy that makes the fight more exciting than just hitting each other.
✴️ CHARACTER ✴️
The thing that has always been the strength of HoYoverse games is the character design, and Honkai Star Rail is no exception.
Each character not only has a cool visual design, but also a background and personality that makes them feel "alive". Starting from the cheerful and mysterious "March 7th", the calm but deadly Dan Heng, to complex characters like Kafka and Blade who are full of enigmas.
Each of them has a very intentional skill animation, especially the ulti, which looks like a short anime trailer. It's no wonder that many players are willing to gacha just because they want to have a favorite character, even if their roles are ordinary.
✴️ STORY ✴️
The story in Star Rail is no less interesting. We take on the role of Trailblazer, a newly "resurrected" character who has a mysterious power called Stellaron. Throughout the game, you'll explore different planets with different conflicts and cultures.
The narrative in this game tends to be long, but it's packed quite lightly. There are serious, funny, absurd, and sometimes touching moments. If you're the player who likes to explore stories, you're guaranteed to feel at home.
✴️ GACHA SYSTEM ✴️
Well, this part must be sensitive. Like other HoYoverse games, Honkai Star Rail uses a gacha system to acquire characters and weapons (called Light Cones). There's a pity system that guarantees you to get a five-star character after a certain number of pulls (usually 90), and it's pretty fair in my opinion. Stay tuned, RNG is cruel. Sometimes you get a character that doesn't meet expectations or even get a dupe (the same character).
What makes this game still friendly is the large number of strong F2P (free-to-play) characters. For example, Natasha (a free healer), Asta (a buffer support), and Dan Heng can be used until late in the game. As long as you're good at team-building, you can still conquer difficult content without having to top-up.
In addition to the main story, the game also has various side modes like Simulated Universe (a kind of rogue-like that makes you think hard and make random buff decisions), and Memory of Chaos for those of you who like serious strategy challenges. These modes provide a variety of gameplay that makes you not get bored quickly.
✴️ CONCLUSION ✴️
For those of you who have played Honkai Star Rail and keep stopping, I can say that now is the right time to go back again. The content is more complete, the story is deeper, and the new characters are also crazy about their design and abilities. Create new players, don't worry. The game is quite friendly and have a lot of guides.
Overall, Honkai Star Rail is a mature turn-based RPG, both in terms of visuals, story, gameplay, and gacha system. Suitable for those of you who like to think, like cool characters, and like a science fiction world with an anime twist

Who is Nur Satrio ?
Hi, I'm Tio, a lover of stories, whether written on the pages of a book, presented in adventurous games, or engraved in the incredibly beautiful nature of Indonesia. In my free time, I like to immerse myself in fictional worlds, build small worlds by assembling Gundam models, and explore new places that offer fresh air and soothing views.
For me, life is not about how fast we run, but how much beauty we get to enjoy along the way. I believe that every book has a universe, every journey has a story, and every second we spend in nature is a quiet expression of gratitude that calms the heart.
