A Plague Tale: Innocence comes from a French company named Alobo Studio
This little studio has made animations for some Pixar movies, like Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up and Toy Story 3. A Plague Tale is an original title from the company with a unique story driven campaign, light RPG elements and clever stealth mechanics.
The story of the game takes place in medieval France, 14th century. The war between England and France is already on, while the Black Plague, known as "Black Death", occurs. The pandemic spreads vastly via mice, which they contaminate other animals or people.
The main protagonists of the game are Amicia and Hugo de Rune, two innocent brothers who are driven to leave their innocence behind and face the brutality of their fate.
A Plague Tale: Innocence at its core is a survival game based in stealth mechanics and with a learning curve which is easily addicting. Amicia and Hugo have no fighting skills so they have to rely on each other to survive. Your only "weapon" is a slingshot and your ability to adapt to your surroundings.
Although is sounds a bit boring, you'll be surprised both with the combat system and the story.
The graphics are gorgeous and in combination with HDR support, the game is pleasant to spend hours on. Each area has depth and you'll feel like you are surrounded with sickness and decomposition.
Lastly, the voice-over interpretation is truly amazing, especially of the two kids. One more big advantage of the game is the overall audio. Oliver Deriviere really made an amazing work. Melodies like heavy violins and chelos fit perfect in the medieval style of the game.
Soon i will upload some personal playthrough footage from the game so stay tuned!!!!!! 😁😁😁😁
