Unimaginable course for the Nintendo title
A few days ago Nintendo released the results for its most recent financial quarter. In this context, it was revealed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold more than 22 million copies in about three months. This is a truly incredible milestone, which makes Animal Crossing the second best-selling Nintendo Switch exclusive game.
The achievements the game acquired in this years do not stop there. According to sales released by Nintendo, which cover the period up to June 30, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the third most successful game of all time, with a difference of only 20,000 copies from second place.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons becomes the 3rd all time best selling game in Japan, only behind the first 2 Pokémon games.

It became the best selling game on a single SKU, breaking the 30 year old record of the original Super Mario Bros.

However, in July and the first week of August, the title has sold almost half a million more in the land of the rising sun. This means that it has now surpassed Pokémon Gold / Silver, to become the second most successful game of all time in Japan. The first place belongs to the Pokémon Red / Blue / Green, however, as everything shows, Animal Crossing will dethrone them very soon.
