I'm Haze, the PUMPKIN KIIIIIING.
Or, at least... I will be.
And it all starts here: with our collection floor for the ol' hopper minecart.
Above that, we're going to have our actual grow-area, and to keep it watered I'm using the waterlogged stairs option.
Pretty much any melon/pumpkin farm you'll see that's automated will use this design. I think there's maybe a way to get around using full blocks above your observers, but I didn't spend enough time tinkering with it to find out for sure. Basically, the observer notes when the stem connects to a grown pumpkin, that fires a pulse of redstone, and whammo! Pistons fire and we break the pumpkin. Which then of course gets picked up by our hopper minecart track.
With the redstone guts done, it was time to plan out our water/ice item transfer system. Similar to the bamboo farm, I want to drop all these items into hoppers that trickle down to other hoppers so it'll just naturally fill up without too much mucking about by me.
So, to that end... ICE ICE BABY! Yeah, I made that joke. Sue me.
So, with a few more minutes of work... we had the entire pumpkin farm working! So it was time to step back and just take a distance look at how the farm is coming together.
And, one last slightly closer look at the pumpkin farm - which I promise will make me the pumpkin king of Hazeworld!
With that done, we're left with two outstanding items:
- Complete the sugarcane wing & storage.
- Complete and decorate the building exterior.
Thankfully, sugarcane farms are such a no-brainer that it was basically done by muscle memory.
First, lay some track!
Second, it's time for sugarcane, pistons, and observers to be slapped into place!
Wire that baby up!
Boom! That's it! Three fucking farms, all done. Last thing to do is to wrap the farms with the containing building, and then decorate it and make it look decent!
Which is what we'll be looking at next time! I should have my video out by then too, so next post will include the actual process for building this entire thing, and my stream-of-thought ramblings as I do so!
Until next time my friends - Happy gaming!
