Team Based on Hurricane and Gust Techniques + Synergy
Hurricane and Gust are two new wind techniques introduced in the Arbury 0.8.0 patch. Now that we have had a balance patch 0.8.3, it was the perfect time to try and create a team based on these techniques.
Hurricane
Hurricane is a somewhat weaker technique in its Base Power, and it does come at a higher stamina cost. However, it is the only wind technique that is multi-target, and it has the synergy bonus of a speed buff if used along with a digital ally.
Used on tems like Granpah with Last Rush (which gives +40% damage boost when you have less tems than the enemy), its damage can be a solid equaliser.
Gust
Gust is a higher-priority move with weak damage. Its niche is primarily when used with an electric ally - the synergy makes the technique ultra priority and it traps the target. Ultra priority techniques are used before enemies can swap in and out, and this allows you to trap an unsuspecting enemy. In the above match, I use Gust to trap a Wiplump, which allowed my Amphatyr to Thunder Strike the Wiplump and kill it with a super effective technique.
Overall Thoughts on Wind-Based Teams
With the fast-paced meta in Temtem at the moment, a wind-based team may be difficult to run, particularly with a couple of fast electrics like Minothor being very present. Moreover, both Gust and Hurricane use an insane amount of stamina for their low Base Power, which makes them quite inefficient.
Gust seems to have sufficient cases where you can trap enemy for your electric ally (especially if they have a secondary typing) to rid of a powerful enemy tem. On the other hand, Hurricane feels quite underwhelming. Hopefully, they will see their use in the future upon future balance changes, especially if Turbo Choregraphy and Hyperkinetic Strike ever make a comeback!
