A spooky Hotel on the mountain trail

Madeline's quest to climb the Celeste mountain got a bit sidetracked as she found herself in a spooky old hotel. The caretaker of this rustic place is Mr. Oshiro, who magically appears and floats around this hotel waiting for someone to come and stay in his hotel.

Madeline just wanted an exit to continue her quest but Mr. Oshiro seems to be very unstable and adamant to show us his presidential suite.

But the hotel is just a mess, everything is out of order. Huge water leaks, luggage everywhere, doors and windows messed up, and mysterious poisonous things loom around the hotel.

Traversing through all the rooms and corridors was not easy. Following Mr. Oshiro was difficult. He could pass through anything but we had to find our way.

Madeline decided to help Mr. Oshiro organise and sort the hotel's things. One of the keys was locked inside the luggage and had to be unlocked.

There were three rooms like the above one and pushing that button would sort the things magically. We had to do it three times in total before we could access the key and declutter all the things.

While going through all of this mess, we found a diary of Mr Oshiro and how all the staff went on to climb the Celeste mountain and how the hotel has been closed for decades now.

I found a secret room where I could play the original PICO-8 Celeste too. What an interesting surprise it was!

I did not play this mini-game as I have completed it. It would have taken another 20-25 minutes easily if I wanted to do it. But it was great to see this inside the game and this was the game whose success helped them make this PC version.

Another thing I realised is that each chapter has a cassette. I didn't find it in the first chapter but found it in the next chapter and this third chapter as well. It says B-side unlocked. I don't what that means exactly, maybe some bonus levels in this chapter? I will have to check on that later.

Things went south when the bad side of Madeline broke out from a mirror and triggered Mr. Oshiro. She called both of us Pathetic and other harsher words towards the hotel in general. This made Mr. Oshiro mad and he transformed into a monster chasing us and trying to kill us.

This chase sequence was quite fun and challenging at the same time. Not overly complicated but I died a lot of times during this lengthy chase sequence.

I knew I was going to die a lot of times in this game but this chapter was quite bad for my death count. I must have died a hundred times. And I skipped a lot of strawberries. I mean a lot and still, the entire chapter took me one and a half hours to finish it.

I am having fun with this one. It has been a good challenge so far. I will try to get as many strawberries as I can in the next chapter even if it takes ten hours. Let's see what happens in the next few chapters. Excited to see if we get some new movement ability!
