Hello and welcome back to my blog.
In my previous post, I shared the process of creating an automatic iron farm which was achieved by killing Iron golems.
I was around the farm for a couple of hours and got enough iron for my needs. So, I can venture out to the nether and explore more. But first, I wanted to get better items than iron and one of the ways apart from mining (very difficult in Mineclone) is through villager trading. One of the easy trades I know of is fletchers taking sticks in exchange for emeralds.
This method requires a huge amount of traders as they will have a cooldown period after you sell enough of one item to them and the fact that it is not a cheap trade. You need 32 sticks for just 1 emerald. So, I need a good source of sticks.
I thought of creating a bamboo farm because it can be converted to sticks and they grow so fast. I think they are the fastest-growing thing in Minecraft.
I started growing it and soon enough I had a big farm close to the village. I will expand it even more once it is fully grown.
Now I wanted to go to the nether and explore more stuff. I was accompanied by and after some preparations, we went through the portal. We went through the mine and crossed a not-so-safe bridge (ghasts sometimes spawn here).
Finally, we were at the wrapped fungus biome, this is a deadly biome because of the presence of Pilglins. They just throw you a few blocks high each time they hit you. And the fall damage adds to the attack damage of the piglins making them very dangerous.
We saw a soul sand valley on our left. While we were thinking of a plan to go there and actively scavenging some new and shiny blocks. We were attacked by a deadly ghast and a couple of Hoglins on the ground.
It happened so fast... Rose build up a few blocks, I guess he was not aware of what is shooting us and one of the fireballs hit him and he was dead. I was on the ground and got under a tree to escape from the incoming fireballs. But Hoglins got me there and I died as well.
We both got back into the nether and it happened again. Rose was slained by Hoglins I guess. That was enough for him as he logged off. I continued and got most of my items back. Some of them were perhaps incinerated by the fireballs of that deadly ghast.
Luckily there was no ghast when I get there but I couldn't find Rose's items. Must have been despawned or burnt by the fireballs. No idea what happened to them.
I came across a "crying obsidian" and I couldn't mine it even with a diamond pickaxe. I even tried multiple times and for long durations but I was unable to mine this block. I knew you can mine it in Minecraft not sure what's the issue here.
As the soul sand valley was on my upper left side. And building up from an open area was not safe. Ghast could spawn anytime and ruin that plan. So, I approach to the flank and got to the valley.
I saw some lights in the distance and when I used my spyglass to zoom in on the structure. It looked like a nether fortress. I even saw a blaze spawner. There was a big lava pool separating the nether fortress from the soul sand valley land. So, I need some other way to approach it.
Nether is full of surprises, I found a weird-looking cactus close to the ceiling. I had to take it with me and see if it grows in the overworld as well. This seems to give light as well. So, it will be an interesting block for my upcoming house.
I still need to create a better house. I am living in a box. My next approach will be to reach that nether fortress and get some blaze rods. Can't wait to make the eye of enders and locate the end portal. Exciting times are ahead!
