Hello gamers, hope you are doing well.
Most of us have played or at least heard about this franchise, the Need For Speed... I have played a few games in this series most notably, NFS Carbon and Underground but the most fun I had in was NFS: Most Wanted (2005), which improved a lot of things from the other games in the series. The biggest change was an improved police pursuits and since this day I run it once in a while just to run away from those cops in the game.
I started a new pursuit which lasted for just over 15 minutes. Here is the video clip (sorry for the poor quality).
It starts from Heat 1 where the police cars are not that durable and we can lose them easily but it quickly increases to level 2 and the police cars are improved but still, they are easy to lose. Police will start using roadblocks at this level.
But the pursuit actually starts from Heat level 3 where the cop's cars get more durable and stronger and they run much faster. This is the level when the District Police will start using Light Rhino SUVs.
The real challenge starts with Heat level 4 as the district police will chase you with super fast cars, will use spike strips along with roadblocks which puncture your tires and the run will be over if you go over those spikes.
They will start using Heavy Rhino SUVs as roadblocks vehicles and vehicles that slam straight onto your car.
A helicopter will also join the pursuit which doesn't stay there the entire time and will leave in a few minutes to refuel or something...lol
The maximum heat level you can get depends on your progress in the game. I have completed the game, and the maximum heat level for these pursuits is Heat level 5, which is quite challenging. Those white police cars look small but are extremely heavy and durable. The roadblocks and spike stripes frequency will increase dramatically and evading from this heat level is not that easy unless you know good hiding locations in the city.
There are some markers on the map while the pursuit is on, one of those is the red triangle which is the 'pursuit breaker', they are destructible areas on the map where you can break and all the police cars that come after you will get destroyed. Weirdly you will come out of it like that 10-tonne of concrete didn't fall on you xD
I played some random quick races too just to see if I still remember how to win in this game.
Played two races to be precise. The first one was a circuit race with just 1 lap and I had a Ford GT. The car looked dope but its acceleration was poor. I was in the first position for the most part in the entire race.
Surprisingly, that white Fiat Punto gave me a tough time at some point. It was a small race which ended in just one and a half minutes.
For the next race, I just rerolled until I got a nice car, a Lamborghini Murcielago. This is one of my favourite cars in the car, got to love its handling and drifts perfectly.
It was a short Sprint again with three other racers. This time I started well and remained close to the first position, it was a close finish.
I would say it is definitely one of the best games in the Need for Speed series. Although I have not played every one of those. I have so many memories of playing this game with my brother and friends. We often go to a friend's house just to play this game and wait patiently for our race. The police pursuits in this game are one of the most entertaining parts of the gameplay for sure.
Let me know if you have some precious memories of playing this masterpiece.
Thanks for reading...
