Hello, gamers. I hope you are doing well.
Rocket League season 19 is here! Rocket League is now 10 years old, and to celebrate this milestone, we've seen a lot of cool cosmetic items in the game. Many were given for free in the community tab, while numerous limited items are on the premium Rocket Pass.
I've been playing this game for about 7 years now. For the last year or so, I've bought the Rocket Pass just to get those premium items. This season's Rocket Pass is insane; I'll talk about it later in the post.
I'm happy to tell you that for the first time, I ended my season in the Champ Rank! I could reach there almost every time, once or twice per season (a season being 3 months long), but never finished in Champ before. Sadly, I reached there on the last day of the season, lol.
After the season reset, all of us are unranked until we play 10 matches. I tried to play some games in the middle of the night. Not many players were online. Matchmaking was taking much longer than expected. Maybe not all had updated their clients, or they were sleeping like normal human beings. I still managed to play 5 games in an hour or so.
These early rank placement games are very chaotic. Since the game is trying to figure out everybody's rank or something, the matchmaking could be bad. In one of the matches, I played against a player with Champ 1 and Diamond 1, which has a gap of four divisions. And with Diamond being so congested in rankings, there's a massive skill difference between the two.
Let me share one of the coolest shots from the session.
This is one of the craziest redirect shots I've hit so far in Rocket League. I have no clue how it went so quickly off the top of my car; that almost didn't make any sense. But if you look closely, you'll notice the ball wasn't going in the direction of my opponent's goal post. I had to make a perfect jump and have the car tilted so it could change direction as well. It was PERFECT!
Sometimes you get a little help from your opponent, too.
Those games were chaotic, too. In one of them, I won 8-0, and in the next game, I lost 5-8. It's like nobody wanted to play defence in that game. Which makes sense in some ways. If you play with random opponents, it gets harder to adjust, and everyone has their playing style. A good team will have one aggressive opponent while another is defensive and sensible, so both of them won't take the risk and leave the net open.
Rocket Pass!
Season 19's Rocket Pass is a special one. I have never seen so many good items in the past. First of all, there are two new car bodies, Xentari and Breakout X. Xentari has hit box of Octane hitbox while Breakout X has the Breakout hitbox. I never play with Breakout, so it will be useless for me. But I can give Xentari a chance.
I like the design of Breakout X, though. It is like someone squished the Fennec that I use, haha.
You can see me using the same topper on my car for years. It is called Halo, and it tracks the number of goals I scored with it, too. So, now I have thousands of goals with this one. But I think I can see it being changed quickly. There is a new Halo variant. A pixelated Halo looks much cooler than my slick and smooth one.
There are a lot of animated decals and wheels this season. In other passes, they were just there to fill up slots and not crafted with any character. But this time, they managed to show that Epic put some effort into their cosmetics. Hopefully, it won't take another 10 years for them to come up with some good cosmetic items.
I like the weird Hellfire decal and the "Hellfire Roasted" tires. They will look good together. It will take me a lot of time to unlock these.
And now the best part of the pass is the Goal Explosions.
The "HellFire Ultra goal explosion" fits perfectly with the theme of this season. There is a popular goal explosion that I wanted, almost similar to this. But that one was too expensive, and now that I have the Rocket Pass, I can get all of them items for free.
As I said before, I played just 5 matches, and in those matches, I got about 5 tiers of progress in the Rocket Pass. You get unique items for the first 70 tiers, and then you get their colored variants. I want a black colored HellFire Ultra, so I might have to increase my game time this season in Rocket League. I enjoy playing this game, so I am not complaining.
Time to show my overall stats. I have played exactly 1107 games with a win % of 53.4%. I noticed that my win percentage has increased by 0.1% since the last time I shared a post. In these 11K+ matches, I am close to getting 6000 wins and almost half of that as MVP, which makes sense as I play a lot more 2v2. The MVP ratio would have been worse if I had played more standard (3v3) matches. Averaging 1.7 goals per game is not bad at all. (Yeah, I have wasted my life on this game...lol)
