Hello and welcome back to my blog!
Starting a fresh world in sandbox games like Minecraft and Terraria is an amazing feeling, it is like an empty canvas ready to be painted and filled with your imagination. Minetest engine had an update (Minetest 5.8.0)last week and the Neoxian City's Minetest World got updated, which meant we had to say goodbye to our last world.
We as a community, made some nice builds on that server. Let me share some of the images of the last world before I start talking about the new adventure.
We had our fair share of fun in building, exploring and fighting in the arena in the old world.
A new adventure starts
Now it was time to jump into a fresh new Mineclone2 world and begin our adventures one more time.
The spawn in this world is close to an ocean, next to some mountains. Mineclone2 is an open-source clone of Minecraft so they have most of Minecraft's biomes.
There was an unfortunate pig who was about to become my food. The first night is always risky and I wanted to collect as much food as I could. There were some more animals around including a few sheep. I punched them to death too. You got to make a bed or the night is going to be very long?
I could see a shipwreck in the water but the sun gave up on me and decided to go under the horizon leaving me with no light source.
And there were no trees around to make myself a pickaxe and mine some stones. Night is bad bad time to stay outside without armour, weapons or a light source. My best bet would be to go into the water and find some chest with good loot from that shipwreck and somehow survive the first night without getting shot by skeletons or blasted by creepers.
Nights are very dark with little to no ambient light. It's like complete darkness, which was a little surprising for me. I had to wait for the sun to rise to find the chest or I would have drowned.
But I got impatient and found the chest, but I got lost in the shipwreck and took much more time than I expected and drowned...lol. I didn't expect my first death to be like this. I was worried about getting exploded by creepers in some dark caves but no, I drowned like an idiot.
But I found some iron ingots and in the morning I mined some coals and chopped down the wood logs from the ship to make my first pickaxe. I killed some more sheep and made my bed so I can now skip the nights easily.
It was time to find a good place to settle. There was a Savanna biome (I think) not far from home and I chose a place to build or at least claim for me.
I cleared some land, chopped down more trees and put down some planks to mark the base of my first building. I don't know if it will be a small house or just a storeroom for my chest or things like that. But I didn't complete it, just laid down the foundation and went exploring.
I placed my bed and made some furnaces to cook some food before I went down to mine some iron. I wanted to make armour and not die from a couple of hits.
There was a big cave next to my settlement, it went very deep. I found a lot of coal and a good amount of iron ores. But some dangers were waiting for me in that cave. I dropped down to the lava area but was ambushed by a couple of creepers, spiders, and some skeletons from the other side. I didn't even have the shield at that point in time (which I should have made) and I died from a creeper explosion.
But the next time I was super careful and collected all my stuff and made some iron armour before taking more risks.
I killed all the mobs and put a lot of torches to light by the cave but those Slimes still spawned and they are so annoying. I quickly ran out of my food so I went back to the surface. Anyway, I got my iron armour at that point, so I achieved what I came for.
Some Llamas were roaming on the surface. They are neutral mobs but get aggressive if you attack them. And if you know me, no way I was going to leave it alone xD. I can safely tell you they do attack you if you try to kill them.
It was time to set up a little food farm so I didn't have to kill those poor animals for my food.
I had some wheat seeds so I grew them and used the bones collected from skeletons, converted them to bone meal to grow my plants and make more seeds. It is not a lot but I have a small farm going now.
The next thing was to go and explore what other biomes or structures we have around this place. There was a big ocean so I made a couple of boats and set out to sail.
The idea was to find more shipwrecks or treasure chests and hopefully a few diamonds or a village. There were some Pillager outposts but not many shipwrecks I could find.
I didn't want to attack a pillager's outpost this early in the game, I wanted to have better weapons and more food before I took them on. I was looking for blocks or plants that are found only in specific places just like the Bamboo plants that I found.
Bamboo is always a good find, it grows so quickly and can be used as a wood substitute and you can make scaffolding which helps a lot in building (not that I love to build xD). I love the sunsets and sunrises in the game.
There are a lot of things to do in the game. A lot! I have to build a house and have an animal farm going too. There is a lot to explore too!
