After getting a taste for Back 4 Blood on my last stream it's time to get back into it. This game is heavily inspired by the good old Left 4 Dead games and it shows. The game play loop is pretty much exactly the same while some elements of the game are deeper. Weapons can have different rarities and they can also be modified with attachments. There also seem to be a shit ton of items of different types that I haven't fully grasped yet.
The big thing that sets it apart from Left 4 Dead are the cards you use to build decks. These cards are basically loadouts that give you different kinds of stat increases and buffs. These are things like increased health, increased damage with certain weapon types, healing efficiency or even team buffs. Cards are unlocked as you play and I imagine they'll only get more powerful the more you play.
Last time I almost finished up the first few levels. Like in Left 4 Dead the chapters are split up into several sections divided by a safe room. The first chapter has four levels and I almost made it through all four last time before failing on the very last one. We're gonna have to change that today.
