Talking of Crypto, among us is one of the most played and loved game in history of the Hive blockchain, a crypto-collectible play to earn game, called dCrops. In 2022, I posted roughly 8 articles on my farm life. I'm sure many who are already familiar with this fact are thinking, "Here we go again with Queenstarr on dCrops"

I'll be reviewing this play-to-earn game, so, please come onboard my farm truck and let's have a tour of the dCropsverse; this will be enjoyable🚜

MY REVIEW OF DCROPS AS A GAME

For this review, I will rate dCrops based on 5 aspects, and for each aspect, I will assign 0.1-1.0 points, with 0.1 being poor, 0.5 being average, and 1.0 being excellent. These aspects are;

✅Game design & Graphics
✅Game play

✅Value for money

1) GAME PREMISE

dCrops is a farming simulation game built on the Hive blockchain with features that mimic real life farming. This game was Officially introduced to the Hive Blockchain on the 14th of April 2021. Now, because dCrops is on Web2, decentralized blockchain, you have complete control over your farm. This play-to-earn game believes in asset ownership, which is why whatever in-game asset you purchase or earn, these are securely kept as NFTs.

The main premise of dCrops is to plant seeds on lands which both come as NFTs, then wait for crops to grow, harvest and sell to earn dCrops native token CROP, which can be immediately traded on the Hive engine for Hive. If you enjoy the idea of farming, fun, earning and NFTs then this is the game to get your hands on.

dCrops since it's inception, has moved from the Alpha phase to Beta phase, delivering on 90% of it's promises, and evolving into much more amazing features like crafting, cooking, and construction.

📝This is a Huge Plus for the game and for it I give a score of 0.85/1.0

2) GAME ART DESIGN & GRAPHICS

dCrops being a virtual farming game with NFT asset ownership would imply that it must have extremely valuable NFTs worth owning, which it does.

The game has a lovely display, and the graphics in general are professional and attractive. The creative usage of colors and card designs will catch you on the game right away; it's almost as if you can eat or feel the freshness of the crops. It is user-friendly, with well-organized tabs.

3) GAME PLAY

As earlier stated, the main premise of dCrops is to plant seeds, harvest, sell shares and earn crypto. The game play is quiet simple, but in other to start playing, you will need to set up a HIVE ACCOUNT.

To set up this account and receive your private keys you can use ECENCY or HVE ONBOARD. Once done, you will need to install HIVE KEYCHAIN to securely store the important keys (Active & Posting) that dCrops will use to interact with on the Hive Blockchain.

There is no mobile app for it yet, but dCrops can be conveniently played on both PC and mobile devices [lovely UI]. If you're playing on mobile, I recommend getting KIWI BROWSER from your mobile store and adding the Hive keychain extension; that's what I'm using right now.

Main play is to;

✅Purchase/earn seeds and lands NFTs
✅Plant seeds on Lands
✅Harvest crops once matured
✅Sell harvest shares to earn crypto💰

Other features include;

Extra fun feature is FESTIVE EVENTS;
✅We had an amazing 👻HALLOWEEN EVENT👻 on dCrops, and presently we are having a pleasant Christmas event - DCROPMAS where players are currently earning amazing prizes, nothing of this sort and almost every festive season is done in the other games I play. This freebies is especially enjoyable on dCrops.

It is all straight forward. Please note that you will need to approve all of this actions by confirming on the Hive keychain prompt.

4) COMMUNITY

Personally, one thing I look for in a game is COMMUNITY, which refers to the interaction between the players-to-players and the game developer(s)-to-players.

This is crucial for determining its success. dCrops is a big and welcoming community where players can engage, discuss their game play and profits, and report technical issues. Most importantly, we have access to the game developer, @Scriptkitty, who takes the time to listen and address our every problem or suggestion.

This is not a game where you have no notion who made it or to whom you should report bugs. dCrops is open and transparent in its dealings and relationships. You can join this community on DISCORD - DCROPS OFFICIAL SERVER.

5) VALUE FOR MONEY

It's the moment everyone has been waiting for, and I can hear some questions wondering, Yes, wonderful visuals, user-friendly interface, lovely community, but does it pay, Wen monies? calm down abit heh

I'm not going to tell you how much some whale made or how much they invested. No, I'll tell you how I invested and how much I gained. After all, this is my personal review about the game.

To be honest, I was more enthused about a fun game that caught my eye at first glance when I initially began off in dCrops; after all, I love colors and cool graphics.

But when I earned an NFT or two, purchased a pack or two, and began to grasp the game, I realized I could actually make money if I focused and followed a strategy.

There are 3 ways to earn in the game;

✅You can earn by completing Quest and earning reward sized chest which nice farm boosters and resource NFTs. I have sold resource NFTS worth 100 Hive+, all puled from Chest for free.

✅You can earn by Holding Rewards, buying packs which add up to your CROP POWER and start earning daily liquid Hive drops. You will need to hold atleast 20,000 crop power and above.

✅You can earn by planting, harvesting and selling shares to be added to the Leaderboard, players who sell shares get rewarded with CROP tokens at the end of the farming season, which is 15days. One season, I sold shares of 17291 and earned 11,827.779 CROP which is approximately 52 Hive now in current market. You can earn this every season [15 days] if you sell your harvest shares. The greater the number of shares sold, the greater the farmers reward.

There's a few more like Trading your NFTs on the market for other players to buy and for some valuable NFTs, it usually is instant.

I have two suggestions for the game:

1. Add some background soundtrack to the game, lovely and soothing. Also, various functions, such as planting, construction, and recipes cooking, might benefit from audio. Some great sounds to keep one amused while playing.

2. I really like the Beta Phase animated farmer who opens the packs, as well as the two mushroom friends who keep us entertained as we wait for actions to load. It will be entertaining to have some animated farmers verifying planting, harvesting, and share selling. We currently have a blank white screen buffering.
