Brawl Stars is one of my favorite games that never fails to capture my attention, most of the time because of its fast-paced gameplay and the different characters, or skins, that you can choose inside the game. Recently, an event came up which ends in 20hr so I decided to spend some time playing the “Trio Knockout”. It is really simple yet challenging, you have to defeat the opposite team of brawlers.
At first glance, it might seem easy, but in reality wining requires good timing, plannings and a good understanding of each characters weaknesses. Even though I have played this game before but still I won't say that I am skilled. I have lost some matches and won others, it is not only frustrating, but also exciting. I was always trying to improve and that kept giving me the motivation.
Eventually, I chose to play as Tick, one of the brawlers I thought it would suit in the knockout mode. Tick is a good choice because he is a long-range attacker but once his mines are placed it can not changed the direction. At first, I thought it's a perfect choice for me because I prefer fight from the distance and not dive straight into chaotic fights. However, after a few matches, Tick was not performing as I expected. Because the slow movements and the timing required to land his attacks felt slightly off compared to the opponents brawlers acting very fast and teleporting here and there. I often got caught off guard by more fast brawler users, I was not able to fully exploit his uses.
So, after few rounds, I decided it was time for a switch, I choose to play with another brawler, Gummybear Nita. She is very different from Tick in many ways because she is more of a mid-range fighter and her bear companion adds an extra layer of strategy. I still struggled a lot against the teams who had mastered their own brawlers, but anyway, I enjoyed it very much.
Well, enjoying the game matters far more than winning. I know victory feels great, but to me the thrill of the game comes from enjoying it, which I believe is far better than playing to win. Every loss taught me something about teamwork, map control and brawler abilities. Every win, on the other hand boosted my confidence. Gradually, I could notice few improvements in my gameplay.
