Well, these have been a bit of a complicated few days. Let's just say that it's been difficult to be in the mood and find the time to play or record anything. But anyway, I'm not here to talk about those issues today. I'm here to talk a little about my experience with TFT after not playing for about six years.
I've been wanting to play TFT for quite some time, but for one reason or another, I never did. I think it was mostly because I was too lazy to download the entire LoL client, haha. Anyway, a few days ago I read about people getting excited for the new season, and their enthusiasm encouraged me to download it. I've never been very good at it, but now it's even worse because I haven't played in so long that I don't know what each item does or which champion is the best, so I decided to play the game using the logic of focusing on one champion and improving it as much as possible.
I started out losing almost every round; my team didn't work well against any of the enemies. Things changed when I got Vi, who, according to the label, was a tank, so I put her at the front and reorganized my team a bit. I won a couple of games here.
Finally, it was time to choose an item. I always get nervous during this round because I never know what's best or what I need, but now that I couldn't even remember what each item did, it was even worse. I just grabbed something at random.
Right after the item selection round, I had a round against an opponent who had Caitlyn and destroyed me. At that moment, I realized that I also had Caitlyn in my available champions, so after losing, I put her on the field and started using her as my main DPS. The moment I started using Caitlyn, I started winning. I don't know if it's because she's very strong or because my previous DPS was very weak.
I got to the perk selection round; when I played years ago (2020), I don't remember this being there, although maybe it was and I just have a bad memory. I chose something called "Strong and Huge" that makes my team gain health.
From this point on, I started winning almost everything (I lost one round). My team was Caitlyn in the back with Bardo, two Shens, and Vi tanking. And something funny is that I put Bardo in because I thought he healed, but it turns out he doesn't, he does damage, and quite a lot. As I won rounds, I was able to upgrade Bardo; he was the first three-star champion I got. Then I upgraded Shen and finally Caitlyn. I don't know if it was the best strategy or if I should have removed Shen and bought a better champion with the gold I earned in rounds, but since it seemed to be working well, I decided to stick with it.
In the more advanced rounds, I found it funny that, although Caitlyn was my main DPS and usually did the most damage, there were moments when my Bardo went crazy and started killing everyone, ha ha ha.
To my surprise, I ended up winning. I guess because I hadn't played in so long, they paired me with some bots, or maybe I was just lucky. Either way, I still find TFT really fun. I finished the game wanting to play another one, but trying out different combinations with different champions to see how they work. I don't know how the meta works in this game, but I imagine that, like any competitive game, there will be something that is "the strongest." I don't like that very much, because it forces you to always look for the same champions to win, and it can get boring. Although I don't know if the meta is varied in this case, I guess I'll find out as I continue playing.

Bueno, están siendo unos días un poquito complicados. Digamos que está siendo difícil estar de humor y tener tiempo para jugar o grabar algo. Pero bueno, hoy no vengo a hablar de esos temas, vengo a hablar un poco de mi experiencia en TFT después de no haber jugado por seis años aproximadamente.
Llevo bastante tiempo con ganas de jugar TFT, pero por alguna u otra razón, nunca lo hacía. Creo que era más que nada que me daba pereza descargar todo el cliente de LoL jaja. Sea como sea, hace días leí a la gente emocionada por la nueva temporada y su emoción me animó a descargarlo. Nunca he sido muy bueno, pero ahora es peor porque llevaba tanto tiempo sin jugar que no me entero de qué hace cada ítem o qué campeón es el mejor, por lo que decidí jugar la partida usando la lógica de centrarme en un campeón y mejorarlo al máximo.
Comencé perdiendo casi todas las rondas; mi equipo no funcionaba bien contra ninguno de los enemigos. Aunque las cosas cambiaron cuando obtuve a Vi, la cual, guiándome por la etiqueta, era un tanque, así que la puse al frente y reorganicé un poco mi equipo. Aquí gané un par de partidas.
Finalmente llegó la ronda donde escogemos un ítem. En esta ronda siempre me pongo nervioso porque nunca sé qué es mejor o qué necesito, pero ahora que ni siquiera recordaba qué hace cada ítem, fue peor. Simplemente agarré algo al azar.
Justo después de la ronda de selección de ítem, me tocó una ronda contra un rival que tenía a Caitlyn y me destruyó. En ese momento me di cuenta de que yo también tenía a Caitlyn en mis campeones disponibles, así que luego de perder la puse en el campo y comencé a usarla como mi DPS principal. En el momento en el que comencé a usar a Caitlyn, empecé a ganar. No sé si es porque es muy fuerte o porque mi DPS anterior era muy débil.
Llegué a la ronda de selección de ventajas; cuando yo jugué hace años (2020) no recuerdo que estuviese esto, aunque quizás sí estaba y es simplemente que tengo mala memoria. Elegí algo llamado ‘fuerte y enorme’ que hace que mi equipo gane vida.
A partir de este punto, comencé a ganar casi todo (perdí una ronda). Mi equipo era Caitlyn en la retaguardia junto con Bardo, dos Shen y Vi tanqueando. Y algo gracioso es que puse a Bardo porque pensaba que curaba, pero resulta que no, que hace daño y bastante. Conforme fui ganando rondas, pude mejorar a Bardo; fue el primer campeón tres estrellas que conseguí. Luego mejoré a Shen y finalmente a Caitlyn. No sé si era la mejor estrategia o si quizás tuve que haber quitado a Shen y comprar a un campeón mejor con el oro obtenido en rondas, pero como parecía funcionar bien, decidí mantenerlo.
En las rondas más avanzadas me hizo gracia que, si bien Caitlyn era mi DPS principal y normalmente era la que más daño causaba, hubo momentos donde mi Bardo se volvía loco y comenzaba a matar a todos jajaja.
Para mi sorpresa terminé ganando. Supongo que por llevar tanto tiempo sin jugar me habrán emparejado con algunos bots, o simplemente tuve suerte. Sea como sea, el TFT me sigue pareciendo divertidísimo. Acabé la partida con ganas de jugar otra, pero probando otras combinaciones con campeones distintos a ver qué tal. No sé cómo funciona el meta en este juego, pero imagino que como todo juego competitivo, habrá algo que sea ‘lo más fuerte’. Eso no me gusta mucho, porque te obliga a siempre buscar los mismos campeones para ganar y se puede hacer aburrido. Aunque no sé si en este caso el meta sea variado, supongo que lo averiguaré conforme siga jugando.
