Playing some more GT6 on my PS3 Emulator (RPCS3). Playing this game has been quite enjoyable, as I only played up to about GT3 when I owned a PS2. But now with emulation I do not need to buy another console, can just play it straight from my computer. It does take a little longer to boot up than what it probably takes on the PS3. And the more I play the more shaders are compiled and the load times starting up the game takes longer. At the moment it is taking about 5 minutes to load but that may double by the time I have more cars, tracks and other graphic objects that need to be loaded.
Bought myself a Porsche Boxster, but it has a 911 engine in it. Quite the zippy car, handles like a Boxster but has the power of a 911.
We race on the BrandsHatch circuit in West Kingsdown, England. Driving in a 4WD restricted race I pick one of my cars that worked pretty well, it can get a little squirrely for a AWD car but its good to practice with more than one favorite.
Starting off in the back of the pack, in 10th place I work my way up the ranking. Passing a Lancer Evolution on the way.
Making my way further up in 7th place there is a Subaru STI that needs to be passed as well.
Another 4WD drive car, the Skyline is ahead of me.
I end up getting second, this Delta car is not my favorite. So I switch cars on the next race.
Letting the replay go we watch my progression up to podium before I finish in second.
I am not that good with older cars, so this Delta car is probably from the 80s and needs a little more respect when driving it otherwise you may just spin out.
The next race is at Willow Springs in California. It was cool seeing this track in the game as its one I have visited in real life.
Using a car I am more comfortable with I quickly move up the rankings. A red evo needs to be passed.
Finishing in first and with a big lead, this car worked alot better for me.
I like the yellow color of this Skyline, looks real clean.
The next race has me going through tunnels, need to be careful not to bounce off the walls.
We cross a bridge as well and makes for a good cinematic shot on the replay.
Coming up on the first lap I made my way through about half the cars. I do not like the really short races, as I feel pressured to move up really fast. Meaning I am not working on my finesse, and if I do not act quick enough sometimes the leader takes a huge lead and seems impossible to catch up to.
There is the bridge shot on the replay, they really did great angles with the replay camera.
Making my way over the bridge I am in the lead and now just have to hold it.
After the race I look for a good mid engine car to buy, its a RUF meaning its modified. It has the body of a Boxster but with a much larger engine of the 911.
I was not a fan of the color, so I changed it to that classic gray color.
Ah yeah looks much nicer now.
I try out the car in another race, this one being a mid engine restriction.
On the second to last lap I am in 4th and quickly gaining on the podium.
Up ahead is another Porsche, seems pretty quick so I have to work hard to get close.
I go for a lake braking turn and gain the lead, though its stays glued to me throughout the rest of the race.
I start another race and ahead of me one of the cars starts to go off the track. I like how it kicks up dust when that happens.
