Greetings, #HiveGaming community. This time I bring you a retro post. Today I'm bringing you something different: a review of a pretty good video game that's anything but generic and is an icon of its culture. I'm talking about Blood Roar. I hope you enjoy it.

It's been a while since I've written a review. This is a fighting game that, unlike others, stands out for a unique element: the fighters are humans with genetic factors that allow them to transform into animals. These individuals lived hidden within society until the Tylon Corporation began hunting them down one by one, kidnapping them and brainwashing them to turn them into perfect soldiers. This is where our protagonist, Yugo Ogami, comes in. He begins investigating the corporation after his father's death and discovers the fighters' secret and the corporation's plans for them.

Este es un videojuego de pelea que, a diferencia de los demás, se destaca por un elemento único: los luchadores, son humanos con factores genéticos que les permiten transformarse en animales. Estos individuos vivían ocultos en la sociedad hasta que la compañía Tylon comenzó a buscarlos uno a uno, secuestrándolos y lavándoles el cerebro para convertirlos en soldados perfectos. Aquí es donde entra nuestro protagonista, Yugo Ogami, quien comienza a investigar a la corporación tras la muerte de su padre y descubre el secreto de los luchadores y los planes de la corporación para ellos.
After extensive investigation and a fierce struggle, the organization is finally destroyed, but now the world is aware of the existence of these beings with animal appearances and strength. Therefore, panic quickly spreads. In the second installment of the video game, Bloody Roar 2, the arrival of a new era brings us the Zoanthrope Liberation Front (ZLF). The story focuses on the Zoanthropes demanding rights and oppressing human authorities.
Después de una extensa investigación y ardua lucha, la organización es finalmente destruida, pero ahora el mundo está al tanto de la existencia de estos seres con apariencias y fuerzas animales. Por lo tanto, el pánico no tarda en propagarse. En el segundo tomo del videojuego llamado Bloody Roar 2 la llegada de la nueva era nos trae El Frente de Liberación Zoántropo (ZLF), la historia se centra en que los zoántropos están exigiendo derechos, oprimiendo a las autoridades humanas.
A group of extremists emerges claiming to represent the Zoanthropes, but it is later revealed that they are representatives of the Taylon Corporation, which seeks to regain control and continue profiting from this race. Here, Ogami's role is the total defense of the Zoanthropes, preventing them from joining Taylon's side, as well as protecting the Zoanthropes and confronting Shenglong, who uses terrorism to achieve his goals.
Surge un grupo de extremistas que representan a los zoántropos, pero luego se descubre que son representantes de la corporación Taylon, que buscan recuperar el control y seguir obteniendo beneficios de esta raza. Aquí, el papel de Ogami es la defensa total de los zoántropos, evitando que se pasen al bando de Taylon, además de proteger a los zoántropos y enfrentarse a Shenglong, quien utiliza el terrorismo para lograr sus objetivos.
In later installments of the game, such as Bloody Roar 3 and 4, the seal and the beast X, known as X-GC (X-Genome Code), appear, granting zoanthropes unimaginable strength in exchange for an untimely death. In this part of the game, everything becomes more mystical; they no longer fight so much against the Taylon organization or for their rights, but for survival against this type of curse. By volume 4, the fight intensifies, and new entities in charge of the spiritual seals are introduced, with the aim of preventing the animalistic side of humanity from consuming all of humanity.
En entregas posteriores del juego, como Bloody Roar tres y cuatro, aparece el sello y la bestia X, conocido como X-GC (X-Genome Code), que otorga a los zoantropos una fuerza inimaginable a cambio de una muerte prematura. En esta parte del videojuego, todo se vuelve más místico; ya no luchan tanto contra la organización Taylon o por sus derechos, sino por la supervivencia frente a este tipo de maldiciones. Para el tomo 4, la pelea se intensifica y se introducen nuevas entidades encargadas de los sellos espirituales, con el fin de evitar que la parte animal consuma toda la humanidad.
I really enjoy this video game, as its story is somewhat fantastical, yet it maintains a remarkably coherent chronology. Furthermore, it features characters with much more extensive backstories and a very well-developed subplot, as is the case with Uriko. Although the story deviates slightly in volumes four and five by introducing the spiritual element, it still maintains coherence in certain aspects.
Me agrada mucho este videojuego, ya que su historia es algo fantasiosa, pero mantiene una coherencia cronológica bastante notable. Además, cuenta con personajes que poseen un trasfondo mucho más extenso y una subtrama muy bien elaborada, como es el caso de Uriko. Aunque la historia se desvía un poco en los tomos cuatro y cinco al añadirle la parte espiritual, sigue manteniendo coherencia en ciertos aspectos.
I highly recommend playing this game series because they were unique for their time, and the second installment is a gem. It was developed by Hudson Soft and Eighting, a collaborative effort between the two companies, resulting in a truly excellent game. Although the series has been active since 2003, when the fourth game was released, Hudson Soft became part of Konami in 2002, and Konami now owns all the rights to the franchise.
Recomiendo mucho jugar esta saga de juegos porque son únicos en su época y, además, el 2 es una joya. Sus desarrolladores son Hudson Soft y Eighting, ya que fue un trabajo conjunto de ambas empresas para desarrollar este videojuego y ofrecer una entrega bastante buena. A pesar de que el videojuego está activo desde 2003, cuando salió el cuarto tomo, la empresa Hudson pasó a ser parte de Konami en 2002, por lo que dicha empresa posee todos los derechos de esta franquicia.
