It all starts slow for Akira - Nothing was left in his possession but some basics
Fresh out in the world and alone, Akira has nothing and is required to collect resources for crafting some basic tools to help get established somewhere.. Tools like a stone axe for harvesting or clearing the way and a wooden club to bash in some skulls of the undead zombies that try to kill him.
But luckily he was dumped not too far from the nearby town and with some time spent, collecting those resources and crafting the tool and weapon to help in his survival, Akira noticed an outpost sort of building on the outskirts of this town.
After gathering additional resources ready to continue the crafting, our survivor meets his first live zombie, a crawler that wanted a hug.. or of course to eat Akira's flesh to be able to keep surviving as they are bound to die off if they starve you would think.
"Sorry buddy but it's you and them or me. I value living and hoping to create a base or two to grow into a living location" he said before beating the zombie head in. It was time to move into the town, beyond the fence line and quickly find a suitable spot to reside for now that can be fortified and stockpiled.
Just on the corner of town is a very suitable location for an initial base, it is a big water tank that has two ladders to the top, one zombie to quickly be killed up the top and then another heard climbing the other ladder. Once both were killed, a spike trap was place by the other ladder for any attempts from zombies climbing up, then it was into the water tank to place some wood blocks and a storage chest, to dump a few things before heading out to start some looting.
"No surprise there are zombies down inside this thing as well. Hmm at least it is only two and then it will be cleared out, ready for me" Akira thought before killing off both zombies, clearing up the water tank to make it a lot safer for him.
Doing some shopping in town
With those resources used to get a start on the base it was time to hit Maggie's Corner Cafe which while just a small place with a smaller amount of loot, no doubt, it will be quick and get some stuff before moving to a bigger building.
One zombie in the path there, one straight inside and behind the counter. But the fight followed by looting.. it alerted a few nearby zombies which started making the fear start to set in on the feeling of being overwhelmed, while only have a club.
But fear leads to excitement for Akira as he started to take out all the zombies with ease, while moving about to keep distance and be smart about it!
The loot dropped from the one on the outside was a nice drop for a small spot.
"What the fuck is that!!!" shouted Akira as he turned to see a flying beast in his face while on the roof of the cafe.
Some swings and getting hit before taking a second look, shows this to be a vulture sort of zombie bird.. definitely unexpected and a creature to be on the lookout for, whenever venturing to a roof. He harvested it in case there was a need for anything gathered, but some zombies could be heard nearby and no doubt got alerted by the shouting.
"More zombies trying to come up the ladder, how great and at least I can see them getting stuck."
Things were starting to get hairy in a nearby garage that had some crates of supplies which Akira desperately wanted!
As he checked a few barrels for gas, it dawned on him.. multiple zombies were coming in and before he knew it, 4 were coming his way including a bigger zombie that would take longer to kill.
It looked like it was turning into a dance party when hitting and staggering the zombies.
"Well this shit just keeps getting worse for me, better back-step and hit in a way that keeps me clear of death."
After a long and slow zombie killing to get rid of that group while running out of stamina at times, finally Akira managed to hit the good loot.. finally he found some guns and more ammo which is perfect to help retire this club for half of the time spent while out.
It was a pistol and then two other crates had pipe rifles in them. With these it was going to start getting a hell of a lot easier than just smacking zombies with a club, he was super excited and got a smirk with the thought of doing some practice long range shots and short range shots to get better with the weapons.
Trading and accepting some work
It was almost time to stop for a break before heading back out for a little while longer, before it hit night time.
Trader Hugh was still open so Akira sold a few bits to make some extra money for buying items later, he also started a job of clearing zombies as that can gain an additional items and money, as a reward!
"Got these few things I want to sell to you buddy. Happen to have any work you need someone to carry out for you?" Akira asked after swapping the items for money.
"Yeeep, got me a few jobs requiring someone to sort it out if you can. Mostly clearing out zombies around town though, think you are up to the job?" Trader Hugh replied before Akira nodded and accepted one of the jobs.
"Looks like I still have some time before night, maybe a few hours yet. Guess I better sit down while I am safe in the outpost, have to clear these zombies and come back, turn the job in for rewards then head back to turn in for the night I think."
That is exactly what Akira did. He sat around to rest up for a while because he was exhausted, he had a drink and something to eat while chilling around the outpost and thought about all the next and future steps to surviving...
