Cliaban Rilag holds a key to the activities of the Leaden Key
Rumour has it the Leaden Key performed some form of work inside Cliaban Rilag and since another group were blocking the front entrance it left everyone jumping a broken part to gain access through another way.
"So it begins. There will be a tough bunch of fights in this place" said TheGoliath as they engaged in battle with two Swamp Lurkers and a Swamp Slime. There were some hits coming at them but the speed wasn't enough as the party kept attacking and attacking, clearing this first fight and heading further along this floor to find another fight...
Some Pwgra and Corrupted Druids were a little tougher to face off against because they were using abilities for extra hurt on the party. But the thing that stopped them was Chill Fog from TheGoliath which was also able to knock out the Grieving Mother as it hurts everyone and everything!
Before long and after a few more fights involving either more Pwgra and Corrupted Druids, or Sporelings and big Spore creatures, it was onto the second level where they would find what is going on.
What appears as they move forward starts off with some Animat ghosts and phantoms that Are an easy bunch of kills like they expected as they show off their force and strength!
"Look at this pool and that thing shining in it, let's check it out!" announced Eder as hey moved into the room and he found the Engwithan Key that should open a door into the last part of Cliaban Rilag.
After breezing through what they were thinking would be a really tough place and finishing up against the Adra Animat, which was actually quick to defeat as well, they found the place of the activity performed by the Leaden Key. A vision occured in TheGoliath, which helped him realise they were ensuring babies were Hollowborn in the surrounding areas and should be reported as soon as possible.
But first... back to Caed Nua to stop attacks on the Great Hall which was no doubt purposely caused by the enemy!
Defending the Caed Nua Keep
Immediately as the party entered the Caed Nua Great Hall did they see a big fight breaking out between those hired to protect it and Trolls and Black Ooze.
"Charge! Throw everything you can at them!" shouted TheGoliath as he cast Pull of Eora to bring a bunch in together which allowed Hiravias to use Boiling Spray and Overwhelming Wave to do a mass amount of area damage to all the trolls and Black Ooze.
The fight raged on as both sides kept hurting the other and it was really intense, also needing skeletons summoned and other spells of a higher level to be cast in order to eventually bring them all down and so everyone could rest, ready for the next day.
After a rest and heal up, a quick trip to Anslog's Compass so the research could be delivered to someone from the Crucible Knights which was not met well be another group wanted it destroyed...
"The research MUST be destroyed! They can't have an army of those things down there" shouted Padebald which started off the newest battle, but they messed with the wrong group!
Crackling Bolt from a great position ensured a couple of Mercenaries got a good hit on them, the party was slightly split up to take out some quickly while they only took a small amount of damage each and could quickly rush back to Caed Nua again.
Why the rush back to the keep? They had received word of a bandit attack on the way which meant they wanted to resolve it themselves, to ensure the best survival of the hirelings and defence of the keep!
Fireball crits a Bandit for high damage, while other abilities helped with high damage on multiple. The hirelings always pull their weight and hold their own in fights and this one was no different, they helped make light work of this group sent to attack the keep and things are starting to really get serious now.
