Slay those creatures nobody has been able to slay yet and get rewarded with scenery
With the sun rising, some clouds over the house and a relaxing sound of the nearby nature, it was time to rise and seek out what is next in the nearby parts of the land. Once outside it was brighter and an enjoyable sight. Lush, green landscape filled with mountains and rocks.
And... Something was heard nearby, what could it be?
"Skeletons! Of course there was a group of them not far from my spot I was resting at for the night. I must quickly dispose of these annoying creatures so I can see what they were guarding here" Octharg announced as he summoned his ghostly wolf.
They took a little bit of time to die as they were a similar level to him and his wolf, the wolf was not overly strong either, but after taking some damage and his wolf taking some more, they disposed of these skeletons. A new summoning book needs to be book when in the next town with them available. Loot nearby was mainly some basic magical items and money in the chest they were guarding.
Between him and the cave marked as the next location there were some enemies in the way to be taken care of as our villain did not go around with the longer route. Highwaymen and wolves, all the weaker enemies were coming out to fight but they were nothing more than pests, easy to burn with fire and nothing to be worried about at this moment.
Finally, after some more running and walking do we find Octharg in the next location, an unknown mine that is said to have some foul beasts lurking throughout but some ore veins to mine from, left there when people were killed off by the beasts in an unprovoked attack.
No time was wasted in mining some ore on a nearby vein upon entry into these mines. It had to be done quickly as a growl could be heard in the near distance...
"Crap, it has to be the beast I heard about. I better be quick to mine while being stealthy so I can get sneak attacks onto whatever beast it is if I hope to survive."
With some stealthy movement he remained undetected and after avoiding the way which had the horrible growls, Octharg reached a spot with the shadow just in front and below him, unknowing to his presence.
The attack on this creature which had the resemblance of a trolls figure would be a sneak bow attack to get two arrows into the beast. After the first, it had started coming for Octharg, prompting him to stand and back up as he launched the second arrow before switching to dual flames.
"Holy crap it is a cave troll! I will stick to using fire, they are weaker against it and it will hurt their health regeneration" he shouted with some fear in his voice.
It was clear their reputation proceeded them with what was capable, from health regeneration to strong swings of the hands to tear through the unworthy opponents.
Upon reaching the outside it had gotten very cloudy with some rain dropping. He decided it was time to enjoy some of the landscape and beauty he could see, starting with the mist and dark clouds backdropping with the mountains, such beauty.
Once Octharg had soaked that spot in it was a casual walk about to see which nearby spots would include a wonderful bit of scenery to enjoy. This came in the form of a long, narrow stream running down from up high and under a bridge, running over rocks and the ground.
"You would be amazed how refreshing this can be for anyone, even someone evil like me that had to endure a fight with those foul, tough beasts back in that mine. Something to soak in before heading out to fight again."
Octharg would normally avoid enjoying scenery when there are better things to accomplish like mass murder and revenge which was his next thought as he headed to coast which had some highwaymen that could be seen from far, surrounded by mining carts and excavation type setups but it was just a big camp for working in.
They would be easy pickings once again for our Destroyer and his ghost wolf. Burning and bashing their skulls would keep being satisfying for as long as he lived.
Looting would end up being quite rewarding here as one of the highwaymen had some magical boosts that had been thought to have been normal boots, a great find and help to Octharg's magic.
"And as a souvenir from this fight I shall keep a bloody skull from my enemy. A reminder for some time about my constant growth in power" Octharg said before letting out an evil laugh.
This was part 4 in a series accompanying Octharg The Destroyer on his journey to regain his lost power and become the destroyer he once was.
Stay tuned for part 5 and see what befalls our villain.
