This tomb will be something for later on
"Greetings fellow adventurers, the name's Dreirea. Would you happen to be in need of a cleric looking for work? I had to disband from my old caravan due to a personal errand and a couple of them were always hating one another and I want a new, solid adventuring caravan to be a part of" announced a Wild Orlan Paladin from the side of the room.
The party discussed is briefly before coming to agreement between all of them. "We need a Paladin and you would be a welcome addition to our party, welcome aboard, Dreirea" said TheGoliath with a smile on his face.
In Gilded Vale is a tomb sort of dungeon filled with creatures and other sorts. Wirtan was injured from trying to complete it with his party yet failed and his group all died, except for him.
He wanted to get the skeletons of his friends back, concerned they would be destroyed by Lord Raedric, but I guess he hadn't heard of Raedric's death and things will be different now. But of course the party headed in to have a look while dealing with whatever comes their way.
It was an easy start with spiders and wisps being what was first to attack them. Weak and quick to dispose of so they could easily continue on with this quest.
Further exploration would see some Skuldr roaming the halls and also easily disposed of thanks to the party's strength and quick attacks, so far so good... until one spot with a locked door, with a higher lockpick difficulty of 10 and needing higher mechanics, meaning they would not be able to progress further until someone had leveled enough mechanics to pick the lock.
"Well at least we have this to come back to later and I will be sure to keep leveling my mechanics up. how about we take out the other Skuldr off the other direction before heading out?" asked McStabby before Dombara nodded and they head over to quickly kill the Skuldr then leave this place.
Sweynur was shouting at Trumbel to hand over the extra grain, but Trumbel was not going to just lose his precious grain. This prompted the angry Sweynur and friends to leave in a hurry and allow TheGoliath and party to get inside.
"Calm down Trumbel, I am not here for the grain. I just got into town and was wondering if you need any help in dealing with those people?"
"Thank you and I need the friends right now as they think I am stocked up on grain, but I am having to ration it all so we can get the people their fair share. Please, can you talk to Sweynur and try convince him?"
TheGoliath and the others were more than happy to help out so that Trumbel wouldn't have to worry about the threats anymore.
With that small bit of extra experience, it was just enough to push TheGoliath up to level 4, bringing in an additional spell to learn and talent as well.
It was an easy choice with Ray of Fire being picked, to burn and damage anyone in between himself and another target, with the talent going towards a bonus 1st level spell use, handy for the fights that really need those spell casts!
It was a great time to stop fight the day and take some time in Gilded Vale, to rest and enjoy the relaxing and not having to fight any creatures while on an adventure.
This was part #8 for my Pillars of Eternity series.
Stay tuned for part #9 and see what happens next and what TheGoliath will get up to.
