I haven't played Village or seen a walkthrough of the game enough to get a better feel for the game, but your post makes me think quite a bit about the comments I've read about this game. I don't think it's entirely wrong that they gave the perception of being an action game, one of the reasons I'm not a complete fan of the RE saga is the amount of puzzles which I personally hate quite a bit haha.
