I am sure you already know why that is, but for those that don't know, it is because AI is absolutely useless without being trained, fed, something to learn from.
I am against it myself as well. I don't care for it at all. I used to make a decent living writing press releases and other copy for companies. I remember when AI was picking up steam, getting much better at writing, and people called me an idiot, a dumbass, boomer, etc for sounding the alarms over how this is going to decimate written creativity.
Most of that vitriole came from other arts such as graphics artists, game programmers, video editors, etc that felt AI could NEVER replicate what they do.
It didn't take long but not only has AI copied them, it has surpassed many of them in the business world as well.
AI really needs to be put to use in areas that people are needed but it sucks, it is hard, it takes decades to learn, etc. Things like medical research, code cracking, etc. Not the fun stuff, the stuff that people find solace in, find enjoyment doing.
Sadly, we are on the time line focused on the latter instead of the former.
I agree with you, it all feels off somehow. Some is easier to spot than others but it all feels off even in minute ways.
There are people that are flooding streaming services with AI generated music and making bank because it is pretty much indistinguishable from actual singers and musicians practicing their craft. It is disgusting.
Sadly, in general, people are lazy and businesses are cheap. Those two elements mean AI is only going to get more powerful and used for far more than most of us even wanted to think it was going to be used for.
