Hola, querida comunidad de videojuegos. Espero que se encuentren muy bien. En esta ocasión, quiero presentarles un videojuego bastante llamativo para su época, con una historia tremenda llena de mitología y dioses. Así es, estoy hablando de Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. Espero que les agrade. ❤️
Our story centers on Silmeria, one of the Valkyries tasked with collecting souls for Odin. After she refuses and disobeys his orders, Odin seeks to seal her away and transfers her into a human body through Sovereign Transmigration. However, the process fails, and Silmeria awakens in the body of Alicia, a young princess from the kingdom of Dipan. Alicia's father exiles her, deeming her mad, since she speaks with a voice only she can hear—that of Silmeria.
Nuestra historia se centra en Silmeria, una de las valquirias encargadas de recolectar almas para Odín. Tras negarse y desobedecer sus órdenes, Odín busca sellarla y la transfiere a un cuerpo humano mediante la transmigración soberana. Sin embargo, el proceso falla y Silmeria despierta en el cuerpo de Alicia, una joven princesa del reino de Dipan. El padre de Alicia la exilia, considerándola loca, ya que habla con una voz que solo ella puede escuchar, la cual es Silmeria.
Odin sends the valkyrie Hrist to capture Silmeria and take her to Valhalla, forcing Silmeria and Alicia to cooperate in order to survive and escape divine pursuit. However, as they attempt to flee, they discover that the kingdom of Dipán is conducting research to confront and rebel against the gods, further jeopardizing the kingdom's security. They are also trying to uncover why Alicia appears to be insane and how she also harbors Silmeria's consciousness within her.
Odín envía a la valquiria Hrist para capturar a Silmeria y llevarla al Valhalla, lo que obliga a Silmeria y Alicia a cooperar para poder sobrevivir y huir de la persecución divina. Sin embargo, mientras intentan escapar, descubren que el reino de Dipán está llevando a cabo una investigación para enfrentarse a los dioses y rebelarse contra ellos, lo que pone en riesgo aún más la seguridad del reino. At the end of the story, the confrontation between gods and humans unfolds. Here, the three Valkyries—Silmeria, Lenneth, and Hrist—merge, forming the supreme Valkyrie. After defeating Odin and the main villain, Lezard Valeth, atop Yggdrasil, they separate from Alicia's body and can finally rest eternally. As for Alicia, she transforms from a shy princess into a strong woman; she no longer hears Silmeria's voice nor possesses her powers, and she begins to take the reins of her kingdom. Regarding our beloved Silmeria, a post-credits scene at the end of this installment of the video game shows that, after many years of fighting against the gods and serving them, she is able to reincarnate as a young girl in a peaceful village and live a tranquil life.
Al final de la historia, se presenta el enfrentamiento entre dioses y humanos. Aquí se fusionan las tres valquirias: Silmeria, Lenneth y Hrist, formando la valquiria suprema. Tras derrotar a Odín y al villano principal, que en este caso es Lezard Valeth, en la cima del Yggdrasil, se separan del cuerpo de Alicia y finalmente pueden descansar eternamente. En cuanto a Alicia, pasa de ser una princesa tímida a convertirse en una mujer fuerte; ya no escucha la voz de Silmeria ni posee sus poderes, y comienza a tomar las riendas de su reino. Respecto a nuestra querida Silmeria, en una escena post-créditos del final de esta entrega del videojuego, se muestra que, después de muchos años de luchar contra los dioses y servirles, puede reencarnar en una niña en una aldea muy pacífica y vivir tranquila.
Regarding its developer and creator, the studio tri-Ace, and its publication by Square Enix in 2006, it was directed by Yoshinori Yamagishi. The expansion of this video game series includes Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, the second installment, and Covenant of the Plume. They also expanded the lore for Android versions, though they closed a couple of years ago. Additionally, there are PlayStation 5 releases such as Valkyrie Elysium (2022) and Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume (2008), which tells a much darker story about humans seeking revenge against the valkyrie Lenneth. This is a rather interesting trilogy based on Norse lore, clearly inspired by the valkyries, and for its time, it boasted excellent and extensive animation and gameplay. I highly recommend this game, not only for its plot, which is chronologically easy to understand, but also for its well-crafted mystery and suspense. It touches on some pretty interesting themes like identity, obedience to the gods and one's own path, and also features a tremendous soundtrack and animation that, despite its era, is still impressive.
Con respecto a su desarrollador y creador, el estudio tri-Ace, y publicado por Square Enix en 2006, fue dirigido por Yoshinori Yamagishi. La expansión de esta serie de videojuegos incluye Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, que es el segundo, y Covenant of the Plume. Sin embargo, también expandieron el lore para unas versiones para Android, aunque cerraron hace un par de años. Además, tienen entregas para PlayStation 5 como Valkyrie Elysium (2022) y Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume (2008), que cuenta una historia mucho más cruda sobre los humanos que buscan venganza contra la valquiria Lenneth. Esta es una trilogía bastante interesante sobre el lore nórdico, inspirada netamente en las valquirias, y que para su época tenía una animación y una táctica de jugabilidad y combate bastante buenas y amplias. De verdad, recomiendo muchísimo este videojuego, no solo por la trama, que es cronológicamente fácil de entender, sino también por el misterio y suspenso muy bien logrados. Toca temas bastante interesantes como la identidad, la obediencia a los dioses y el camino propio, además de contar con una tremenda banda sonora y una animación que, a pesar de su época, sigue siendo impactante.
