How are we gamers? Today I want to talk about some experiments I've been doing to emulate the PS3 console on my computer. I don't have a low-end or high-end PC, let's say it's a mid-range PC that I show you below:
When the PS3 came out they gave me an Xbox 360 so I never had this console. And well obviously there are many games from that generation that I would like to try and play. It has surprised me a lot how the programs to emulate have advanced and even how they continue to advance. In this case, the RPCS3 PlayStation 3 emulator; This post is not a tutorial on how to configure the emulator, since I'm still experimenting with this emulator to find the best settings for each game.
The particularity of this emulator with the others that I have used is that it is still in experimental development and not all the games in the PS3 catalog work correctly, so before playing the game and the version must be validated. Yesterday I lost a download of 44 GB to test the God Of War 3 and well later when verifying the game it turns out that it is in development. So it is an emulator to which the game should be verified. test it and configure it. I'm trying to find a default setting that works for most games in a playable state.
Is it playable?
Yes, it can be played. The emulator boots and manages to run more than 1000 games from the PS3 catalog. You can find out which game to play or not within the list that the developers have on their page, as many other titles are still in development, including Killzone 2, one of the most acclaimed shooters on PS3. And just like Killzone is the case with many other games. But hey, I think that with the games in the same "playable" state, you can enjoy a large number of titles.

Special requirements?
Unlike other emulators like PPSPP, PCSX2, or GBA emulators that work for 32 and 64-bit architectures. RPC3 is only supported by 64-bit architectures. And this is not surprising, because emulating Play3 requires a faster, more advanced architecture and no latency among its responses. Below you can see the minimum and recommended requirements for this emulator.
Games that I have been able to emulate
I have only tried a few games on the emulator so far. If not, however, I have managed to successfully emulate the few titles that I have available. For example, one of them that has left me with a pleasant surprise has been The Amazing Spiderman. In addition to being an incredible game, I have managed to emulate it without any problems. And that Spiderman games sometimes tend to be a headache to emulate. In the emulation, we depend on the hardware and not only that but also on the version of the ROMs we use, in this case, the rom versions of the PS3 games that I have found, despite all being the latest version (I'm still on the search) I have found some ROMS of good quality.

Looking for the default configuration
Yes, as I have managed to emulate these titles, I am still looking for the ideal base configuration for all games. Not all of them work equally well with the same graphics engine, the same resolution, a load of textures, etc. So having a base configuration that works well for most games is ideal, since this base configuration, is taken as a beginning to create a custom configuration for each game.
Conclusions
I am delighted with this emulator. However, it is not as simple as the others for the reasons that I have previously commented on. The games are the other issue, not only knowing if they can be emulated or not, the weight of each one of them. They are not MB or KB like the other emulators, they are GB and more than 5GB for each game. Can you tell me; good with 100 Megabytes of the internet you download it fast. YES, but the problem is not my connection, the problem is that the server where the games are attached restricts downloads and I only download 10 of the 100 Mbps, so the download is tedious.
Removing its handling and the issue of downloads, it's very worth it, soon I'll bring up how to configure it correctly and where you can safely get the games. I will also start posting about some PS3 titles I need to play. As always it is a pleasure to write for everyone, see you in the next post.

¿Como vamos gamers? El día de hoy quiero hablar acerca de algunos experimentos que he estado realizando para emular en mi computadora la consola del PS3. No tengo una pc ni de gama baja ni de gama alta, digamos que es una pc de gama media que te muestro a continuación:
Cuando salió la PS3 me regalaron un Xbox 360 por lo que jamás tuve esta consola. Y bueno evidentemente hay muchos juegos de aquella generación que me gustaría probar y jugar. Me ha sorprendido muchísimo como han avanzado los programas para emular e incluso como siguen avanzando. En este caso, el emulador RPCS3 de PlayStation 3; este post no es un tutorial de como configurar el emulador, ya que todavía sigo experimentando con este emulador para hallar las mejores configuraciones para cada juego.
La particularidad de este emulador con los demás que he utilizado, es que se encuentra todavía en desarrollo experimental y no todos los juegos del catalogo de PS3 funcionan correctamente, por lo que antes de jugar se debe validar le juego y la versión. Ayer perdí una bajada de 44 GB para probar el GoD Of War 3 y bueno luego al verificar el juego resulta ser que se encuentra en desarrollo. Entonces es un emulador al que se debe verificar el juego. probarlo y configurarlo. Estoy tratando de buscar una configuración por defecto que funcione para la mayoría de los juegos en un estados jugable.
¿Se puede jugar?
Si, si se puede jugar. El emulador arranca y logra ejecutar más de 1000 juegos del catalogo de PS3. Puedes saber que juego jugar o no dentro de la lista que tienen los desarrolladores en su página, como hay muchos otros títulos que todavía se encuentran en desarrollo, entre ellos Killzone 2, uno de los shooters más aclamados de PS3. Y así como es el caso de Killzone el de muchos otros juegos. Pero bueno creo que con los juegos en estado “jugable” igual” se pueden disfrutar de una gran cantidad de títulos.

¿Requisitos especiales?
A diferencia de otros emuladores como el PPSPP, PCSX2 o emuladores de GBA que funcionan para arquitecturas de 32 y 64 bit. El RPC3 solamente es soportado por arquitecturas de 64 bits. Y esto no es de sorprenderse, porque emular Play3 requiere de una arquitectura más rápida, avanzada y sin latencia entre sus respuestas. A continuación puedes ver los requerimientos mínimos y recomendados para este emulador.
Juegos que he podido emular
Hasta el momento solo he probado pocos juegos en el emulador. Si no embargo he logrado emularlos con éxito a los pocos títulos que tengo disponibles. Por ejemplo uno de ellos y que me ha dejado con una grata sorpresa ha sido el The Amazing Spiderman. Además de ser un juego increible, lo he logrado emular sin ningún tipo de problemas. Y eso que los juegos de Spiderman ah veces suelen ser un dolor de cabeza para emular. En la emulación dependemos de el hardware y no solo eso, también de la versión de los roms que utilizamos, en este caso las versiones de rom de los jeugos de PS3 que he encontrado, a pesar de lo todas ser la última versión (sigo en la busqueda) me he encontrado con unos ROMS de buena calidad.

Buscando la configuración por Default
Ha si como he logrado emular estos títulos, sigo buscando la configuración ideal base para todos los juegos. No todos funcionan igual de bien con el mismo motor gráfico, la misma resolución, carga de texturas etc. Por lo que tener una configuración base que funcione bien para la mayoría de los juegos, es ideal, ya que de esta configuración base, se toma como principio para crear una configuración personalizada para cada juego.
Conclusiones
Realmente estoy encantado con este emulador. Sin embargo no es tan sencillo como los otros por las razones que anteriormente he comentado. Los juegos son el otro tema, no solo saber si pueden ser emulados o no, el peso de cada uno de ellos. No son MB ni KB como los demás emuladores, son GB y más de 5GB por cada juego. Me pueden decir; bueno con 100 Megas de internet lo descargas rápido. SI, pero el problema no es mi conexión, el problema es que el servidor a donde están anclados los juegos restringe las descargas y de los 100 Mbps solo descargo 10, por lo que la bajada es tediosa.
Quitando su manejo y el tema de las descargas, vale mucho la pena, pronto voy a traer como configurarlo correctamente y donde puedes conseguir de manera segura los juegos. También comenzaré a traer post sobre algunos títulos de PS3 que necesito jugar. Como siempre es un placer escribir para todos, nos vemos en un próximo post.
