Hey gamers! I've been grinding Predecessor lately, and this time I'm bringing you a guide about one of the most badass junglers in the game: Bayle, The Betrayer. This champion is absolutely brutal when you know how to build him correctly, and honestly, once you master his playstyle, you'll be carrying games left and right. The jungle role in this MOBA is incredibly rewarding if you know what you're doing, and Bayle is one of those champions that can completely dominate the map and turn the tide of any match.
So, without further ado, let's dive into what makes Bayle such a devastating force in the jungle and how you can build him to maximize his potential. Fair warning though - Bayle is an advanced difficulty jungler, so if you're new to Predecessor, you might want to practice with easier champions first. But once you get the hang of him, you'll understand why he's so feared.
Understanding Bayle's Playstyle
Before we jump into the build, let me explain what makes Bayle special. This guy excels in long fights and has incredible sustain and damage output when built correctly. Unlike some junglers who rely on quick burst damage, Bayle is all about extended combat situations. His kit is designed for split-pushing and dueling, which makes him perfect for the jungle where you're constantly fighting monsters and then transitioning into ganks or objective fights.
The beauty of Bayle is that he dominates most 1v1 situations once you've got a few items. He can take down objectives quickly, making him a nightmare for enemies. While your team fights mid lane, you can be destroying towers on the other side of the map, forcing multiple enemies to respond and creating pressure.
The Core Build for Jungle Bayle
For Bayle's starting item, go with the Warrior Crest. This regenerates health when dealing damage to enemies or monsters. Once you restore 200 health, it evolves into Champion Crest, giving you a resurrection effect that marks your location. If you die within 4 seconds, you resurrect there with 40% health and mana.
Your first major item should be Mutilator. This gives you physical power and penetration, but the real game-changer is the Reap active ability. Dash a short distance, deal massive damage, and slow enemies by 80% for 1 second. Perfect for ganking - come out of the jungle, dash onto enemies with Mutilator, and they're basically dead.
Second item, grab Draconum. This gives physical power, attack speed, and bonus damage based on enemy maximum health. Since you'll fight tanky junglers and enemy fighters, this lets you cut through their health bars easily.
For your third item, decide based on the game. If enemies have strong casters, get Void Helm for magic resistance. If you're ahead and want to snowball, go Tyranny for bonus damage against low-health enemies.
Fourth item should be Salvation. This gives you a shield when you're low on health, plus maximum health. Combined with your Warrior Crest resurrection, you become incredibly hard to kill.
Final item, Aegis of Agawar is my choice. It gives defensive stats and magic resistance, crucial in late game when enemy casters deal massive damage. You want to dive the backline, take out carries, and survive.
How to Play Bayle in the Jungle
When playing Bayle, your early game is about efficient farming and looking for gank opportunities. Don't force plays - Bayle needs items to come online, so focus on clearing camps quickly and maintaining vision. Use abilities efficiently and watch the minimap for overextended lanes.
Once you hit level 6, you can really make plays. Be strategic with ganks - use jungle terrain to your advantage, come from unexpected angles, and coordinate with teammates. A successful gank forces enemies to burn summoner spells, pushes them out of lane, or denies farm.
Mid game is where Bayle shines. With Mutilator and Draconum completed, start split-pushing and creating map pressure. While your team groups for objectives, destroy towers on the opposite side. Enemies must respond - if they send one person, you can duel and win. If they send more, your team gets a numbers advantage.
Communication is key. Let your team know when you're split-pushing so they can play around it. Don't randomly leave them to fight 4v5 - make sure there's an objective they can pressure while you create chaos elsewhere.
Building Your Own Bayle Setup
The build I've shared works best for me, but Predecessor requires adaptation. Adjust your build based on enemy team composition and game progress.
If enemies stack armor, grab Basilisk earlier for armor penetration. If they're all squishy, skip defensive items and go full damage. Understanding why you build items matters more than blindly following templates.
Pay attention to fed enemies. If their mid laner is 5/0, you need magic resistance immediately. If their ADC is dominating, consider items for gap-closing or surviving their damage.
Consider your team composition too. If your team has damage but lacks tankiness, build more defensively. If your team is tanky but lacks damage, build more aggressively.
Continue experimenting with Bayle
So there you have it, gamers! Bayle is incredibly powerful when built correctly. Focus on farming efficiently early, look for good ganks, and transition into a split-pushing monster mid-to-late game. This build gives you damage to threaten anyone, sustain to stay on the map, and survivability to make risky plays.
Remember, jungle is about map awareness, timing, and knowing when to fight versus farm. Bayle rewards patient, strategic play - don't force fights you can't win, but capitalize ruthlessly on opportunities.
If you've played Bayle or have builds to share, let me know! See you in the next post, and happy hunting in the jungle!
