Hey Gamers, how are you doing? I hope everyone's doing great. We're still playing Predecessor, and this time I want to share with you this quick GUIDE on what I consider to be really good items, from the cheapest to the most expensive, to use throughout the entire match.
Revenant's Weakness
One of Revenant's peculiarities is that his durability is only 1, but his attack is 8. So one of the main characteristics to balance and take into account is critical damage and durability. This is crucial because if you don't balance these two aspects, you're going to get absolutely shredded in team fights. Revenant can deal massive damage, but he's also one of the squishiest carries in the game. A couple of hits from an enemy assassin or tank and you're done for.
The thing is, his entire kit revolves around landing those critical hits with his fourth shot. That's where all his damage comes from. So we need to build in a way that maximizes that critical damage while also giving us enough survivability to actually stay alive long enough to use it. This is the constant balancing act you'll be doing every single match.
Critical Damage Items: Imperator, Vanquisher, and Terminus
Stacking critical damage will be crucial, and you'll be able to hit up to 800 per critical hit with the right build. Let me break down these three essential items for you.
Vanquisher is typically your first major purchase. This bad boy gives you +45 Physical Power, +12 Physical Penetration, and +25% Critical Chance. But the real kicker is its passive, Annihilate. If you deal damage that would leave a hero below 6% of their maximum health, you execute them. That means no more enemies escaping with a sliver of health. This item is perfect for Revenant because it allows you to secure kills that would otherwise slip away. The penetration helps you deal with early armor stacking, and the critical chance starts building toward that 100% crit you want for your passive.
Imperator is where things get serious. This item enhances your critical damage like no other. Besides the physical power increase, its Precision passive will take your critical hits to the next level. When you combine Imperator with Revenant's passive, which already increases his Physical Power based on his crit chance, you're looking at some absolutely devastating damage numbers. This is usually your fourth or fifth item, and once you get it, you'll notice the difference immediately. Enemies that were taking three or four shots to kill will start dropping in one or two crits.
Terminus is your lifeline. This item gives you +40 Physical Power, +15% Critical Chance, and +15% Lifesteal. But what makes it essential is its passive: excess healing is converted into a shield, with a max shield size of 80% Physical Power. The shield slowly decays 15 seconds after leaving combat. This is huge for Revenant because it gives you that extra layer of protection you desperately need. The Lifesteal keeps you healthy during fights, and when you're at full health, that healing turns into a shield that can save your life when you get jumped.
Demolisher: The Anti-Tank Solution
Many times when playing dual carry lane, the enemy team will have either a tank or an assassin, so this will be useful. Demolisher is your answer to those beefy frontliners who think they can just walk at you and tank all your shots.
This item gives you +50 Physical Power, +25% Critical Chance, and here's the important part: it ignores 30% of physical armor. Its passive, Deicide, deals 0% to 25% bonus physical damage to heroes based on the difference in Max Health from 0 to 1,600. So the tankier they are compared to you, the more damage you deal to them.
Against a team with multiple tanks or bruisers, Demolisher is absolutely essential. Without it, you'll be sitting there unloading your entire clip into their frontline and barely making a dent. With Demolisher, you cut right through their armor and start chunking their health bars. This usually becomes your third or fourth item depending on the enemy team composition.
For Durability: Draconum is Your Main Item
So we've talked about damage, but what about staying alive? Draconum is going to be your go-to durability item. This thing gives you +45 Physical Power, +40 Physical Armor, and +15 Ability Haste. But the real value comes from its passives.
Surge: When you deal damage to Heroes or Monsters, you gain 2.5% increased Healing for 5 seconds, stacking up to 10 times. That's a potential 25% increased healing at max stacks. Flow: On Takedown, you restore health based on 120% Bonus Physical Power and 5% of your missing health. This means every time you secure a kill or assist, you get a massive health boost.
Draconum is perfect for Revenant because it addresses his biggest weakness—his durability—without sacrificing damage. The physical armor helps you survive against enemy carries and physical damage dealers, the ability haste lets you use your abilities more often, and those healing bonuses combined with Terminus's Lifesteal make you surprisingly hard to kill if you're positioned correctly and getting takedowns.
Complete Build Order
Here's how I typically build Revenant throughout a match:
Early Game: Start with your Crest (Rogue Crest for Ortus is popular) and work toward Vanquisher first. This gives you your early snowball potential.
Mid Game: Pick up Demolisher if they have tanks, or go straight for Terminus if you need more survivability against a squishy team. This is also when you should be thinking about boots—Galaxy Greaves or similar.
Late Game: Complete your build with Imperator for maximum damage, Draconum for durability, and a final item like Equinox or Nuclear Rounds depending on what you need.
Remember, the beauty of Predecessor is that you can adapt your build based on what's happening in the match. If you're getting focused hard by their assassins, prioritize Terminus and Draconum earlier. If you're snowballing and nobody can touch you, rush that Imperator and delete their entire team.
So gamers, here you have a complete guide to start getting an idea of how to play with Revenant and what items to start buying. The key is balancing that massive damage output with enough survivability to actually use it. Don't just blindly follow the build order—adapt to your games. Pay attention to what's killing you and build accordingly.
Revenant is one of the most rewarding carries to master in Predecessor, but he requires good positioning, awareness, and smart itemization. Hopefully, this guide helps you understand the core items you need and why you need them. Now get out there and start collecting some bounties!
See you in the next post, gamers!
