There are many reasons people start developing games. Be it because of a great and fun game idea or to make ones favourite game better.
For me, it always was a great way to create worlds out of my imagination.
My first steps in Unreal Engine 5
Probably everyone of us was part of an imaginary world at some point.
No, I don't mean this moment where you were day dreaming of beeing a millionaire.
I mean, especially as a child, where you built you world with Legos. Where you were the hero saving the world from monsters.
Well, we, as gamers, sort of live this dreams up to our adulthood and beyond.
Modern game engines like Unreal Engine, Unity, Godot and so on are powerfull tools where even beginners without any knowledge in programming can built what ever they want.
And this is awesome!

You don't even need to!
Game assets can either be purchased or are widely available for free for various engines, purposes and artstyles.
Other than that, there are more than enough tutorials für modeling tools like Blender or Maya.

Not into 3D? No problem! "Feudal Kingdoms", available on Steam
As you can you see from the screenshots of my projects above, there is plenty of possibilites.
I really encourage you, if you're a creative mind, grab one of the great programms and build whatever you can imagine.
A lot if interesting ideas never reach the word because people think they can not do it... but they can. And so can you!
Screenshots were taken from various side projects of mine made in Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
Except Feudal Kingdoms which can be whislisted on On Steam which is made in LUA using the Love2D framwork
