Level up your Christmas experience with poinsettia. Flowers are indeed amazing! They're vibrant, colorful, beautiful, unique, refreshing, attractive and aromatic. Some of them are even seasonal. They can grow beautifully in air, land and water.
I've been a farmgirl for quite some time, and growing flowers are one of my specialties. In fact, poinsettia is my personal favorite. It's unbelievable right? But, yes, it is. So pretty as they call it, yet so sensitive with the sun. I can never forget the first time I saw it in person, it was amazing, lovely, unique and most importantly it looked like plastic. Interesting right? It's actually not your typical flower that you can see and buy anywhere. To be honest, it would take you a year before it will turn red just like the Christmas decor you can buy in the stores. That's why we call it Christmas flowers. I need to wait for a year to see it bloom, yet it would only last until Chinese new year. Ironic right?
Hi Hivers! Welcome to my humble garden. Let's explore and discover Poinsettia's beauty and glamour. Every first month of the year, seedlings are being prepared and it is the first phase of growing it. Next, I need to transfer the stems into the seedling pot. It must be placed in a shaded area with no direct sunlight at all. I also need to plant as many as I can because it can only survive in cold places. So, I always make sure to have extra seedlings with me just in case things won't go well. After three months, I will trim the stem and transfer it to the first pot where the temperature is lower and better. Then, after a few months of cultivating it, I will transfer it to a bigger pot again so it can grow healthy and strongly. As time goes by, the flower will start to produce more leaves and will turn into a big flower.
In October, some leaves will turn red little by little while other varieties will turn to pink, yellow and white. So, when November arrives, colors will come out vibrant, and will be more attractive. Imagine having this flower in your place, your heart will definitely melt for its incomparable beauty. It is indeed attractive wherever you put it.
In addition, it gives life and can make your surroundings festive and relaxing. Just like how resorts, restaurants, government buildings, malls, churches and recreational areas see it . It's also the time where delivering the flowers to different locations feels like a vacation to me. Traveling them from my hilltop garden to the lowland for their sunlight exposure. I must travel them at night or at dawn to prevent them from withering. That's how sensitive they are. It is always a tiring process yet it's always worth the grind to make the Christmas holiday more special for everyone. From table decorations, landscaping materials, hotel entourage display to astonishing Christmas exhibits. Various companies use it as their lucky plant as well.
As a gardener, seeing it everyday means so much. So, I decided to decorate my house just like others. The first thing I did was to put it in my stairway, so people can see it even if they are far and that's for free. Some people put it on their balcony as well, to give life and make the upcoming holiday more festive. While others use it as an accent for their dining tables to serve as a symbol of beauty and prestige.
Poinsettia is now in full bloom as it welcomes the Christmas season. So, please appreciate them the next time you see them, they have a short life, yet doing their best until the holiday season ends. We may enjoy and celebrate this holiday blissfully like the poinsettia's . Let's continue growing more flowers. It will definitely bring joy and happiness to everyone. Advance happy holidays ahead Hivers! 🎄
