🍃Garden Update🍃
JOSTA FLOWERS AND UNKEMPT GRASS
Hey!
Hope your weekend has been calm and enjoyable. Mine has been very pleasant and wonderfully uneventful. It's a long weekend, with a bank holiday Monday at the end, so people have planned weekends away so the neighbourhood has been slightly calmer than usual. We've also had some really good double-digit weather so I've been able to get out to work a little bit on the garden.
I've finally cleared all the leaves, twigs and weeds from the beds and they're ready to go. I can see all the plants that made it, especially the berries, have already started to thrive quite nicely. The star of the show is my Josta (jostaberry) plant that is already flowering nicely. It produced some nice fruits last season that were very delicious.
The spring onions are going strong too. I've actually harvested and eaten some of them already. They count as the first harvest of the year I guess :)
The others are starting to bud here and there, but there are some that are still yet to make any move. I haven't planted anything new this year just yet. I'm waiting for a few more weeks, or when I have the time. I don't know if I'm going to do tomatoes this year, even though they were quite successful last year. I may try peppers this year maybe. I don't know.
I need to mow the lawn again already. We had a few days of very light rainfall so the grass is shooting up quickly. My neighbour's lawn is pretty much a meadow right now so at least that makes my lawn look quite nice haha. Even though I have quite a few things that I have to do tomorrow, being the first day of the month, I may take an hour or two to do the lawn quickly. I need the exercise anyway :)
Peace & Love,
Adé
