Time To Mow The Lawn
GARDENING TIME IS UPON US
It's gardening season!
I need to mow my lawn, like most people in these parts, before the rapid growth sprouts start. I also need to improve the grass-moss ratio. It's probably a bit late for that, since I should have done that in February and March, but it was way too wet and cold for me to use my electric lawn mower. Also, I was way too busy and couldn't be bothered.
Anyway, lowing the lawn is one activity I actually enjoy. It's a time to have a nice podcast playing in my ear, with my noise-cancelling headphones, and stretch my legs a bit. I find the grass cutting process quite satisfying as well, much like popping bubbles or waling on fresh snow. It's hard to explain :)
After mowing the lawn, I'm going to spread some grass seed all over it in the hope that they will grow and outperform the non-grass stuff. There's probably a more efficient method but I'm no expert so I just do it like this and it works most of the time LOL.
One think I like about this electric lawn mower is that it's cordless. It uses a battery rather that direct power. It means it's less powerful and has a time limit, but I could always buy multiple batteries to resolve the second issue. Besides, it's plenty powerful for what I need it for and it does a good job. I don't have to worry about risk of electric shock where I to accidentally mow over a cable. I'm also not limited by the length of the cable. My previous mower, which I used for over a decade, was corded and I had to use an extension, which introduced even more issues.
The only problem I have is where to put the grass cuttings. They don't collect green waste for free in my area, and I have to take it to a central location somewhere. That's always a bit of a pain. It also messes up the boot of my car. Doing the grass early, before it grows too high, at least ensures I don't have too much to take to the dump.
I made a review video of my lawn mower last year if you're interested:
