Greetings!
When I retired from my 8 to 5 job two years ago to try my luck in countryside living one of my goals was to plant vegetables and eventually attain vegetable sustainability. Now, I realize that it is easier said than done, but, if you love what you are doing the word "hard" is none existent because of the joy that is brought by success and that's what happening to me right now. I now know that it is not easy to attain "sustainability" but I do love what I am doing so it automatically ignores how hard it is.
My current tomato plants are starting to bear fruits and soon they will wither so this early I am now planting the second batch of tomatoes for the year. In planting the tomatoes, I adapted a technique that I used more than a year ago (check the images below).
This month the rice harvesting season has just concluded and it means people with goats will let their goats roam around rice fields. It means that I have to put fences around my Calamansi so that the goats will not be able to get close to my Calamansi. I used hog wire for the fence (check the images below).
One of the advantages of planting calamansi is that it is not a very demanding plant when it comes to fertilizer. Calamansi can be fertilized quarterly with an amount of 50g-100g of ammonium sulfate (21-0-0) or urea (46-0-0). The amount of fertilizer can be increased after two years. Check the images below on how I fertilize my calamansi plants. I used UREA (at 50g on each plant).
The joy of being a farmer is when you see your crops start to germinate, develop leaves, and eventually grow last September 24, 2023, I planted my first-ever cassava plant (my very first ever). And now they already developed some leaves (which make me very happy and excited).
And here it is now nine days after I planted it last September 24, 2023. It already has multiple leaves growing simultaneously. It is such a joy looking at your crops growing healthy.
That is all for now guys, catch you up with the next one. Wishing you all safety, good health, and abundance.
Thank you very much to all of the Hive Ecosystem Curation Teams/Individuals, I am very grateful for the upvotes/curation/support. God bless you all!
