Greetings!
Welcome to the continuation of my weeding season, in this blog I weed out the section of my vegetable garden where I planted sweet potato vines a few months ago that was ravaged by my poultries. Sad to say, I never got to harvest anything on my sweet potato vine crops.
Below is the photo of the section of my vegetable garden that I weed out. It has lots of weeds, and the sweet potato vines that I planted were hardly noticeable. If you look at the right side of the photo you can see a steel post where I installed the solar lights last year.
Next to the steel post is my Lemon Grass where my feathery friend is residing which I introduced to the community in this blog and as you can see there's a tree trunk next to my Lemon Grass, that's one of my Mango Trees.
Can you see sweet potato leaves in the photo below? It is hardly noticeable, but if you click the image and zoom in you will see some sweet potato leaves in the lower-left section of the photograph. Seen anything yet? Scroll down to the next photo and you'll see.
And here it is, the one on top has a hole, the one on the bottom is more noticeable. But if you look more closely at the lower leftmost section of the photo you can also see some sweet potato leaves.
I took the photo below when I stopped momentarily because I am already gasping for air because of the humid and cloudy weather.
After resting I finally finished the weeding (photo below). Seeing how it looks without the weeds is very satisfying.

And below is a side-by-side comparison of the section of my vegetable garden that I weed out.
| Before | After |
My immediate plan for today is actually just weed this section of my vegetable garden but then I finished a little early so I decided to plant more tomatoes in this section. Tomatoes always do not disappoint and it is a bit of a quick-moving (in terms of selling) that is why I chose to plant tomatoes even if I still have some tomato crops in their middle age.
I also used a shovel to do some soil to create raised soil. I have to raise the soil that I am going to plant tomatoes because when the rain comes this section of my vegetable garden is always very saturated.
A few more minutes and here is how it looks now after digging.
You can see how it looks like in the short video below after I dug some soil.
After digging I have to make a hole on top of each of the raised soil so that I can put some black soil in it as a starting mix.
Here's the soil I put on each of the holes. It is actually recycled soil that I used in planting my black seeded string beans.
Here's the tomato that I am going to get the seed for this batch of tomatoes. This tomato came from my current tomato crops which are still producing fruits.
Just like in my previous tomato crops, I just sliced the tomatoes into thin strips.
Then I put them one-by-one on top of each of the soil.
It is only half an inch deep, then I covered it with some black soil.
I pat gently to compress the soil.
I watered it well...
Then I have to put stakes on all of them because I have a few poultries that love to dig.
And finally, here's how it looks after planting.
That is all for now guys, see you next time.
