My main job is tech translation/writing and programming. My interest to blockchain and crypto brought me here to Hive. At the same time, I'm an artist, cook and started working as a gardener since this spring (my dream came true!).
So I wanted to make artworks to show how plants are interesting, beautiful and tasty. I am minting "We Love Tomatoes" NFT series over the summer on Hive since Tomatoes are one of my passions. After the tomato season, I think about making "Beautiful Beans" NFT series.
Here comes the connection to gardening. The Lima bean, the motive of this NFT is what I grew in my mini balcony. The beauty of the lima beans took my breath away when I see those with beautiful patterns on a post on Instagram by a Spanish bean collector Rainbow Magic Beans. I took contact and got two of the Lima Beans in this spring.
In addition to their beautiful out look, I like how Lima bean plants help each other. When they are affected by mite damage, not only the directly damaged plant but also nearby lima bean plants that haven't been directly affected detect aromatic compounds and attract natural predators. Through these aromatic compounds, it has been recognized that lima beans communicate with each other.
I grow them in my 2 square meters micro balcony and I could harvest the first two last weekend.
To introduce the beautiful Lima beans, I made this NFT 😊 I wish I can harvest some more until the end of the season.

トマトの次に、豆のNFTコレクションを作りたくて、最初の一つを作りました。
熱帯アメリカ原産のライ豆がモチーフのNFTです。ガーデニングコミュニティに投稿していいか少し迷ったものの、スペインの豆の収集家からわけてもらって、自分で育てた豆がモチーフなのでいいかなと。
ライマメの原産は熱帯アメリカです。ペルーのリマから海外に輸出されていたことからリマ豆と呼ばれるようになりました。白いものや緑のものが一般的ですが、この絵に描いたように、中には美しい模様のあるものもあります。
ライマメはダニの食害にあうと、食害にあった個体だけでなく、直接被害を受けていない近くの個体も香気物質を感知して、天敵を誘引します。このように、香気物質を介してライマメは植物同士でコミュニケーションをとっていることが認められています。しかもこれを発見したのは、日本の高林純示教授らということでなんだかうれしいです。
美しく助け合いながら生きるライ豆に魅せられて、ライ豆をBeautiful Beansの最初のNFTにしました。
