I’ve just come back from HiveBeeCon in Krakow. And it's cold here! Completely different from last week ... the temperature is dropping below 0°C in the night time.
Micro Balcony Update
After planting bulbs in the big garden, I found it so much fun that I bought more also for the balcony. And it turned out they were 50% off at the end of the season! I might have bought a little too many… but whatever isn’t used can go into the garden anyway.
To make space for planting, I cleaned up the balcony. It's quite different from the midsummer jungle. Cleaning took longer than expected, so I postponed planting the bulbs and headed to Krakow for BeeCon.
Today was around 5°C during the day, but I went ahead and planted the bulbs. Every year I just plant them randomly, and they end up uneven—too sparse here, too crowded there. So this time I decided on the spots first, carefully considering flower height and blooming time. It sounds obvious, but planting properly feels so satisfying, 56 bulbs were perfectly fit in 👏 The daffodils will be the first to bloom after New Year. I’m already excited 😊
Planting bulbs are a kind of investment. If you have space, it's still not too late 💰
The “Klein” but Big Garden
It’s getting colder and my daughter has caught another cold, so it might be a little while before I go to the garden again. But there’s still a bit of space left for bulbs, and I’d love to plant some more… If I have time, I want to check the bulb sale again. Half-price bulbs are such a gardener’s dream!
To-Do
Before attending the conference tomorrow, I might stop by a gardening store to peek at the bulb sale. It should warm up to around 10°C in the middle of next week, so hopefully I can go out and plant more then.
But it’s also peak cold season, so I’ll take it easy and enjoy things slowly.

クラコフで開催されたHiveBeeConから帰ってきました。帰ってきたら寒い・・・！暖かかった先週とは打って変わって、最低気温が0度を下回る日々が続きそうです。
マイクロバルコニーと家の中の植物の様子
大きい庭に球根を植えたら楽しくて、バルコニーにも植える分を買い足しました。そうしたらなんとシーズンの終わりで50%オフ！調子に乗ってたくさん買ってきてしまいました。余ったら庭に植えればいいし・・・
球根を植える場所を作るべく、バルコニーを片付けました。真夏のジャングルと比べるとずいぶんすっきり！思った以上に片づけに時間がかかってしまい、球根の植え付けは持ち越しにして、BeeConに向かいました。
今日は日中5度でしたが、意を決して球根を植え付けました。毎年適当に植え始めて、スカスカ、ぎゅうぎゅう、アンバランスになってしまうので、花の高さや開花時期を考えながら、植え付ける場所を仮決めしてから植えました。当たり前ですが、きちんと植って大満足 😁 年明け一番のり水仙が花を咲かせてくれるかな、楽しみです。

寒い日が続きそうで、かつ子供がまた風邪を引いて家にいるので、庭に行くのはちょっと先になるかもしれません。でも、まだ球根を植えられるスペースがちょっとあって、もうちょっと植え足したいな・・・なんて。時間があったらまた球根のバーゲンを見に行きたいです。球根が半額なんて、ガーデナードリーム！！
直近のTODO
明日カンファレンスに出席する前にホームセンターに寄れそうだったらちょっと寄って球根のバーゲンを覗いてこようと思います。来週半ばは10度くらいまで気温があがるようなので、植えに行けたらいいな。
とはいえ風邪のシーズンでもあるので無理は禁物。ゆっくり楽しもうと思います。
