Tobacco Crop
Tobacco, like other plants, is a plant whose leaves are broken and dried. It is used in hookah or cigarettes. It contains an addictive chemical called nicotine, which is harmful to human health.
When I passed by this field, I saw it, and a single thought came to my mind: to spread this tobacco field to the garden community so that the members could also know about it.
Climate, Soil and Planting Time
Different types of tobacco require warm and humid weather for growth so that the growth is good and the yield does not decrease.
For this, the land must be well prepared and fertile, for which cow dung fertilizer can be used. Which improves the pH level.
Its nursery is prepared from December to January, and it is transferred from February to March.
At the stage where I have seen these plants, they are tall and fully developed, with flowers and buds also forming.
Flowers and Suckers Plucking
To increase the yield of tobacco crops, flowers, and suckers are plucked. As the flowers and pods are formed, the process of plucking them continues. When plucking suckers, care should be taken to avoid damaging the plants. The best time to do this is in the morning or evening.
This is done so that the nutrients go to the leaves, This improves the aroma, color, and flavor of the leaves. And bitterness develops in them. If bitterness develops, the quality of tobacco will be good. Which will fetch a good price in the market.
As Compost after Dry Up
These flowers and buds are thrown into the ground, which, after a few days, dry up and become part of the compost in the soil, as you can see in these pictures after they have dried.
Curing and Drying
After plucking the leaves, the tobacco is carefully dried in a closed room, which can take about 30 to 35 days, after which it is sold in the market at a good price.
