I consider gardening an investment. The results cannot be seen in an instant. It takes time, and sacrifice to see the results.
For me too, gardening is not about expecting a harvest of vegetables or fruits. More than that.
I like arranging. I like design. So I try to arrange my garden neatly. How can I arrange a small space into a neat garden with maximum results.
This May, I thought about many things for arrangement, to utilize narrow spaces. One of them is closing the top of the water channel.
I used used bamboo from construction that was thrown away in the area near my house. My husband helped me to cut the bamboo into the same length.
My husband said, I am a perfectionist woman. 🤣 well yeah, you could say that. I would interrupt him if the size was not the same length.
The result of closing the water channel in front of the house is quite good and later I can add some pots there to plant vegetables. I also want to add striking flowers to trick pests. I'm still looking for those flowers (while saving up ehehe)
Let's see the development of my plants in my mini garden! Starting from white polybags. In the white polybags there are baby green beans with a non-creeping variant.
The age of the baby green beans has entered the age of 14 days after being transplanted. I'm looking for organic fertilizer in the form of goat manure around here. In the next few days I will fertilize. I will also add plant supports.
The planting medium in the polybags looks very fertile. You can see here that the wild grass is growing well. So don't forget to pull out the wild grass.
The baby green beans plants are starting to have many branches. Whoa, I'm excited for that.
I also looked at my compost container. The kitchen waste has started to decompose and is already blackish in color.
It's just that at the top of the compost container you can still see small caterpillars working to decompose the waste.
In another container, I also continued to make compost. It was really fun to see kitchen waste being turned into something else that I would later use in my garden.
Bitter mustard greens look good and fresh a week after transplanting.
Later I will give them fertilizer because when transplanting, the planting medium was used water spinach planting medium and I haven't mixed it with organic fertilizer. Hey, grow well, please! 😊
My rental house is indeed small. You can see it yourself from the front. But I try to make it into a maximum garden. Because we don't have a parked vehicle, so I can use the vehicle parking space.
I arranged used gallons. I planted the used gallons with spinach, also water spinach.
Both of these plants are a week old after sowing. This is my first time planting spinach. I feel quite nervous. I hope this will work!
As I said at the beginning that for me gardening is not just about expecting the harvest. For me gardening is creating a Healing place. As simple as drinking coffee or tea in the garden while watching the growth of my plants.
My rental house will get the morning sun. So I will get the blessing of a beautiful sunrise.
Every morning I enjoy a beautiful view like this! While I drink tea or coffee.
Also, a healthy breakfast to fill my energy. It's all connected in this beautiful garden.

It doesn't matter how small or big the garden we have. But how to express love for that space. Happy gardening!
