Hello, all of my friends of the Hive Universe. How are you all? I hope you are all well by the grace of the Almighty. I am also fine. Today, I want to share with you gays about my vegetable garden that I started by planting green amaranth. Now I start to write about it. 😊

Our house's left side has an empty place. I thought about that place to make my vegetable garden. Then I went to my hometown for my internship research project-related work. During that time, I want to market for some work. Then I saw a shop where they were selling different types of vegetables seed in a packed bag. So, for my vegetable garden, I bought green amaranth, red amaranth, Indian spinach, and lady's finger seeds.

When I came back, I started preparing my garden. At first, I removed the weeds from the area where I had sown the amaranth seeds. Then I was tilling the place by using desi tools. After tillage, I broke down the soil's big aggregates. Then I took the seeds packed and cut them. After that, I took a small pot. Then I pour half of the seeds into the pot. Then I added some sand to it and mixed it well.

Then I sow seeds by using the broadcasting method. Moreover, I watered after sowing. Then after 48 hours the seed started germinating and started to grow.
Every week I remove weeds from the amaranth field. After 10 days in our area here happened a heavy wind and rain occurred. In this rain my garden amaranth field became messy and some water remained there. I noticed that if I didn’t prepare any drain then it all would be ruined. Then I started to make a drain. Now, the field's four sides have drainage, and water cannot stay in the field.

It can be eaten now if we want, but my mother-in-law wants it more mature; then she will make curry. She said she wants to cook this with jackfruit seeds. Jackfruit is our national fruit. In Bangladesh, the summer season is now going on, and ripe jackfruit will be available soon this summer.

I was preparing the field during that time my aunt-in-law was present and said that those who will consume you are only 3 members. Then I said I would give you and the other neighbor. She said if you give once then next time they don’t want it. She also said I gave your mother-in-law Indian spinach then next time she refused to take it. Actually, the reason is that my father-in-law doesn’t want to eat vegetables. After cooking the vegetables, she cannot finish them. As I was not there. I was living in Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh for my study purposes. Once upon a time we were a big family. It was a joint family. So, my mother-in-law has a habit. She can’t change it because she cannot cook a small amount. She always cooks a large amount. But she cannot finish the food. That's the reason she doesn't want it again.

After hearing her I decided to make a small field. As I am the only member who likes vegetables so much. My mother-in-law also like but not that much. I don’t use any fertilizer in this field. I wanted to use organic fertilizer, but it was not available in my home. So, I don't use any fertilizer.

In my green amaranth field one corner seedling, is not growing properly. As far as I know, it is a higher pH, which means for a strong alkaline soil. For our new home entry, we give milad. Milad means, we invite people to our home to consume food for lunch and doa usually. Some people also arrange mahfil. We were arranged a mahfil. When the mahfil was arranged, it became late at night. Then they consume food at night as dinner. We arranged mafil too. So, they consume food at dinner time. To make that dinner in that field dug 3 big holes for cooking food. After that, there are ashes remaining in the soil, which makes the soil more alkaline. That’s the reason I initially think, or it can be for another reason that I don't know.
For proper vegetative growth, the pH level in the soil should be around 6-7.

I hope you like my post. If you have any questions, you can ask me in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them.
Thanks a lot for reading my post. See you in the next post.
Have a great day! 🌿
