The sweet April showers has brought us now in May so many colorful flowers. It is a blessing coming home seeing this wisteria blossoms hanging outside my door.
Beside the Wisteria, I have so many flowers now shining in the sun. The first 3 years I barely had any flowers but these last 2 years my garden is full.
I even don’t have to sow them anymore, the birds and the wind are spreading the seeds in the fall around the garden and they are starting to grow, to many of course. I have to give many away and also I have to destroy many, in order to be able to grow also my veggies.
May is such a wonderful month, the garden is growing and growing. And soon exploding!! Hahah
Daily we are eating so many fresh mixed salads. With ‘we’ I mean, me, my friends and my neighbors.
Soon it is time to harvest my carrots
Also my broad beans are almost ready to harvest
The first strawberries are there! What a blessing to have them fresh from the garden every day.
This is my last harvest of broccoli, from the 2nd half of august I will plant new plants again, for the next season.
Now it is time and warm enough, to plant tomatoes, peppers and eggplants. I can’t wait to harvest my first tomatoes.
I haves planted about 8 different kinds of tomatoes seeds and still to0 many left over. I always plant too many seeds.
The pepper and eggplants are still too small in the glasshouse, so I bought from a local farmer some ready plants that can go direct in the soil.
When I plant them, I put a little bit of calcium and ashes (from the fireplace) in the hole.
I collect during the year my eggshells, wash them and wait until I have a cookie tray full.
Then I put them crunched in the oven, 180 degrees for 20 min.
After I let them cool down and make powder of it.
Before I use it in the garden, I mix it with ashes
I am hoping for a good harvest this year.
Welcome May, with all your wonders.
