More Seeds Sown. GroVid22 Update

Today, I planted FOUR new types of seeds for the season.

I planted Two varieties of cucumber: Spacemaster 80 and Straight 8. Both are similar, a straight 8 inch cuke, with fewer seeds. Both Popular.

The main reason for planting two types so similar is twofold: they each have slightly different days until maturity so Space 80 will produce typically in 60 days, while straight 8 takes 65-75 days. my experience with both is that they take about 10 days longer than the packet says. A second reason, is each have slightly different resistances to disease, and pests. So, each season I plant each to hopefully guard against disease and pests in worst case scenarios.

I planted two varieties of Brussels Sprouts: Catskill Green Brussels Sprouts, and Rubine Red Brussels Sprouts. Planting very different was mostly for aesthetic reasons. I cook with sprouts often and want to try some recipes with red for a different look on the table.

Notice, there are 6 more seed starter cells empty. I will be sowing some Yellow Summer Squash and Green Zucchini in those, in about a week.

Note Above: on the bottom shelf, left, there is a 72 cell tray, with seed starter/soil mix. The next few days, I will be planting 72 Tomato Seedlings:

Cherry Tomato: Sweetie, White (our favorite last year), Blueberry, Yellow Pear.
Plum Type: San Marzano, Roma, Ukrainian Plum
Full Size: Beefsteak, Tigerella, Black Sea Man, Black Tula, Cherokee Purple, Brandywine Black, Jubilee.

On the top shelf, is the two trays sown 4 weeks ago. Onions and Chives on left: Utah Yellow, Pompeii White, Ruby Red, Red Burgundy, Sweet Spanish White, and Red Beard Bunching Onion. On right: Purple Pepper, Coral Bell Sweet, Sunbright Yellow Bell, Lemon Drop (medium Hot), and Sweet Banana Pepper.

I swear, I do NOT have a bad seed habit. I swear I am NOT a bad seed. Honestly... I try to behave, I really do, but I cannot help but put my fingers in places they do not belong. I cannot help it, if I leave my seed behind.
