Dear Garden Diary,
Fall has blessed us with amazing weather. Rain for days, then another few days of sunny days follow. Mushrooms are popping up under blankets of yellow leaves.
Yesterday I spent a lazy afternoon in the garden, gathering a handful of zinnia flowers and a bowl-full of mustard greens to add to our lunch.
I am dreaming of the day when I won't have so many responsabilities and can spend more time in one garden. At the moment though, I am spread a bit thin with different jobs and two big properties to care for.
It can be a lot to handle. And the production of the garden suffers when I can only spend a couple of hours a week there.
So, after doing some work at home I biked up to our building project to do some transplanting. We have a small garden there where I am slowly transfering plants, one bike trip at a time.
I needed to clear out some of the summer plants to make room for a sage and lavender plant that are better suited to the flower/herb bed. While I worked I simply listened to birds and gathered up the extra herbs and flowers into a mini bouquet to take home with me 💐
