Harvesting a sweet potato is not just one time but many times. And this is the best day in the life of a farmer like me. With this crop, many times you will feel the reward of your hard work in caring for it. And we will also always grow this crop because it has been our grandmother's favorite ever since her sugar level went up. That's why I said to my mom why are we still buying sweet potatoes from the market when there is land that can be planted with sweet potatoes. And that was the beginning of our planting of this crop and sometimes when we had a lot of harvests what we did was to stock the rest for grandma and the rest we sell and with the money we sell, we buy something delicious to eat or for our daily needs.
When we first harvested, we only got a small amount because the sweet potatoes were still small and what we dug was the main root of the sweet potato. And this morning I did not expect that my three close relatives would come here with us because they intend to harvest sweet potatoes. And of course, I was happy with what they were planning because I had someone to harvest with and that was fun. After we talked, we immediately went to the sweet potato field.
And the first thing I saw was the flower of the sweet potato and the leaves of the sweet potato were getting a little old that was a sign that it was going to be harvested. And since the main roots of the sweet potatoes have been harvested then and now we will dig up the creeping roots and see if there are any sweet potatoes.
When we first dug the ground, we found four pieces of sweet potato.
So my relatives immediately positioned themselves in another part of the sweet potato field to dig as well.
And this is the other sweet potato that we got underground. Every dig in the ground will see two, three, four, and one sweet potato to be found.
So we had so much fun that when one of my companions got a big sweet potato, she immediately screamed and laughed at the same time.
And one of my companions was so happy that she got a big sweet potato that she pretended to gasp. Hehehe.
As I looked at them and saw different positions hehe. They didn't know I took a picture of them.
And I was so happy that I was not able to dig the ground because I was the receiver of the sweet potato they got and put it in the place where their sweet potato was placed.
What I did was three piles of sweet potatoes because there were three owners. And we did not realize the heat of the sun. And my mother said to rest first because it's too hot. And we immediately took shelter and talked that tomorrow or another day we will harvest sweet potatoes again. And in my estimate, we got over ten kilos of sweet potatoes this morning.
