Dear Hive Garden Friends
The garden has changed a lot in the past couple of weeks, with a) no watering as I've been bedridden, and b) crazy-high temperatures.
It's wonderful to see what has survived and flourished, though!
The pumpkin plants are proliferating:
And the basil, thank goodness: such a great base green in all kinds of pastas, salads and potato dishes.
The beautiful capers have flowered and now are presenting fruits in abundance 😍🙏💚
And the Mano Di Buddha lemons are growing quicklyin the intense heat.
The neighbours' apricot tree is throwing a lot of its abundance to the ground, so I intervened with a bucket!
And there are a few passifrutta ripening along the street...
All in all, I've lost a lot of wee seedlings, BUT did just harvest from the tattie plants in buckets:
There are many self-sewn wild or semi-wild leaves, so despite the nearby greengrocer closing, I'll have lots of fresh greens to hand each day, hopefully 🙏💚
And I was super glad to see the rocket coming back after being so frazzled- it's such a staple in the kitchen!
Ok, I am drained from concentrating so hard on writing this! And am off to make a beautiful lunch 💚🥗🙏
Blessings on our collective endeavours in flourishing on/ in/ as Gaia-Sophia!
Clare.
