Hi Hivers! Yesterday, I was doing a few gardening tasks on my balcony when I got the notification of an invitation from my friend to join the Garden Journal. To tell the truth I don't have a garden. I live in an apartment and of course, it doesn't have a garden. But I have on my little balcony several planters that I can call my wee corner garden.
So yesterday, I had some time and I took care of my plants since with all the work I had been a little neglected with them. I talked to them. I watered them and made them some organic fertilizer from ground eggshells.
In my corner, I have some aromatic herbs. The ones that have been with me the most are an oregano bush, which I have had for some years and the rosemary that always has grown good on my wee corner.
Other plants that I have are aloe vera. Here aloe plants reproduce very quickly and although, I use their leaves to extract the gel that has many properties and benefits for the skin. I have too many sprouts and I'm always looking for someoneone to give them some aloe plants.
Yesterday I took some sprouts for my sister from one of the plants, but I'll need to work with my bigger one that it's full of sprouts on the weekend.
Yesterday I also sowed some tomato seeds to replenish my tomato plant. The tomato plant that I had, unfortunately, a few months ago, got plagued and ended up dying.
But I want to have tomatoes on my balcony again and maybe they will turn out as good as the ones I got from my previous tomato plant. The tomatoes were small but so juicy. These in the photo below were my first harvest of tomatoes. So I hope, I can have a new tomato plant.
I've also had some unsuccessful attempts in my little corner, like this little bush of lemons. My husband sowed some seeds a couple of years ago. We thought it wouldn't work, but suddenly we saw that the plant grew. However, it has never given lemons. I don't know if it has to do with the size of the pot. Now it isn't at its best. I just pruned it and added a little compost to see if it improves.
Most flowers have never grown up very well on my balcony. I once had a couple of geranium, but after a while, they both died. But I do have a plant that gives me beautiful flowers and is my favorite. It is the Eucharis, also known here as the Amazon lily.
It usually gives me flowers two or three times a year. Right now it isn't flowery, But I share a photo of one of the flowers that it has given me in the past.
But not everything are plants in this corner. Sometimes we have visitors who like to nest in a little vessel that I have hanging from the ceiling. Usually, they come and build the nest and after the chicks have left, they remove it. This is from the last nest we had.
This, my fellow gardeners, is my garden journal for today from my wee corner garden. These days I have to go to the nursery to replace some of my aromatic herb plants and for some time I have had my eye on some cherry peppers plants and I want one.
If you made it this far, thank you very much for reading.
