It was a lovely sunny day, so it was perfect gardening weather. The communal garden finally has a few daffodils that have come through. I'm not a big fan of daffodils but it was good to see some colour.
I started doing a bit of pruning. The secateurs that my friend gave me cut through the thickest of branches. Normally, I'd have to get the mini saw out. ðŋ
I set fire to some garden waste, which is quite cathartic. I made sure none of my neighbours had any washing out, though.
I also spotted a couple of ladybirds, or do you call them lady bugs? One was playing dead, but two minutes later, it flew away. ð
We have several pots of this plant. I've no idea what it is, and I don't really need to know as long as it lives. One is doing well in the sun, but the others look as though they've died off. I decided to put one of the better ones in the sunshine and hope it can be resurrected. The others, unfortunately, had rotted, so they had to go. ðŠī
We have some interesting ornaments in the communal garden, such as millstones and old weights, which I think look quite cool.
I also made use of some flattened cardboard a neighbour had left out for recycling, which turned out to be ideal for scooping up soil and leaves. ðð I think my task next week is to get some of the moss up off the ground.
I did rescue a few snails and worms before I put the leaves in the bin. ðŠąð I read somewhere that it is best to tap the snail's shell first so it will release its grip. If you don't and try and prise it away, it could damage its membrane. Anyway, it worked!
