Adding banana water to the watering routine
Growing is a learning experience to say the least. I have decided to add a little extra organic nutrients to a few of my plants. I added a couple of banana peels to a half gallon of water and left to soak for 3 days. I am sure I will play with this ratio and time of soak if I determine it is beneficial. I am not by any means ALL ORGANIC or nothing type of person, but I see doing so while growing is the least I can do to GROW responsibly. I want to encourage a healthy environment for pollinators and other good symbionts in this little patio garden I have created.
I also have addressed a possible huge problem with the drainage of my tomato plant. The other day I was rotating the bucket and was hit with a funky swamp water smell of stagnation. I then realized that by only perforating the bottom of my bucket and leaving it flush with the top of the stand it is on, I effectively have been trapping water. No doubts this has led to some if not all of my plants issues. As the video and other media I have shared shows, my plant is withering at its foliage on the bottom arms. I have only one little fruit so far and it appears to be stunted and ill as well. With addition of the banana water, I have also been sprinkling used coffee ground onto top soil and mixing lightly.
