Last Week's Entries
wrote about the struggles of having a garden when you are renting and have to move.
made us laugh with the notion that a duck must be sacrificed for water spirits to have easy access to water. His diagram showed exactly why the plantains were placed in the swampy area.
also included a garden drawing. It's quite amazing how a sketch can help us visualise the 'why' and 'how' of a garden here on Hive.
I also loved the drawing of 's cassava plant!
And it was really interesting to read about why growing food is so important in Nigeria:
The hardships in Nigeria gathered momentum between 2012 and 2023, the new Nigerian president, Tinubu removed the controversial petroleum subsidy in June 2023. Since then everything has failed, with the high cost of living. Thus bringing economic hardships to Nigerians. This also affected the cost of farm produce, This made many families including myself resort to a mini farm, any piece of land left unattended to was turned into a farm. When the government has laughed off the awkward plight of the people. Since this period I have been engaging in mixed cropping.
This week's winner
's post was very interesting and I loved his superstition about the duck sacrifice, but also the passage of water across his land. Thanks for joining in,

This is a great opportunity for those in the northern hemisphere who might be shutting down their gardens for winter, and still want to write on #gardening topics.
